Airfix RMS Mauretania Ocean Liner, 1/600, X481-800

Rare Airfix Japan issue. Never started. Factory sealed internal bag with decals and instructions. The Mauretania and her sister Lusitania were considered the finest and most beautiful ships of the day, both inside and out. Launched in 1907, she quickly won the Blue Riband from the 'Kaiser Wilhelm II' for the fastest Atlantic crossing. For more than 22 years she was the Queen of the Atlantic liners. She saw extensive service in WWI as an armed cruiser, transport and hospital ship. In 1922 she was converted from coal to oil and set another record in 1931 when she crossed the Atlantic 4 times in one month. Sadly, she was scrapped in 1935 as the Queen Mary neared completion.

This beautiful tanker was built by Kieler Howaldtswerke A.G., Kiel and had a long and successful career. She was launched in 1953 and operated by Olympic Transportation Corp, Monrovia Liberia. In 1964 the ship was lengthened & deepened. She was scrapped in 1972. Features color printed high-quality cardstock - no painting required. The kit has not been started. The parts are complete and the sheets are uncut.

Contains highly detailed Atlas/Mercury, launching pad, ramp, tractor transports, nitrogen tank and trailer. Never started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions. Please NOTE that one wheel and one stair are a slightly different color; they are from the original 1960s issue of this same kit.

2001 issue. Very large 1/24 scale kit is over 19 inches long when built. Actually, this model is made from the same molds as the Phantom Huey kit from the late 1960s, except it is molded in color and excludes the non-relevant parts. The results is a wonderfully detailed kit with full interior, crew, full instrument panel and radios, detailed engine and transmission, opening cabin doors, and rotating main and tail rotors. Includes XM-16 armament subsystem with quad 7.62 mm machine guns with ammunition belts and two LAU 32A/A (Aero 60) rocket pods. The kit has never been started. The parts that were factory sealed are still in the sealed bags. The parts that were not factory sealed have been inventoried complete including decals and instructions.

Classic large 12.5 inch wingspan kit. Made of solid, completely precarved Western Pine - not balsa. Builds up to an impressive display model. Kit includes fuselage, wings, elevators, engine pylons and engine nacelles all cut to shape. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried with all wood and plastic parts present, the original glue and wood filler, sandpaper and instructions. NOTE: There is a very high quality photocopy of the decals included so you can make your own decals (see the article on the website). But this kit is MISSING the decals. Otherwise complete. Also includes big Strombecker stand and stand arm. Before plastic kits were introduced, Strombecker was famous as the premier hardwood preshaped model manufacture. In the 1940s and 1950s, Strombecker kits were flawlessly engineered but not inexpensive. All wooden parts are hardwood and are precarved to shape - usually only sanding would finish them.

Strombecker was famous for this line of precarved hardwood and plastic kits. All parts are made to shape, including the fuselage, which made these kits easy to assembly and finish. This kit also includes a clear injection molded canopy, wooden base, wire support, color decals, glue and sandpaper and a stand. When complete it makes an impressive desk top display. Never started. 100% complete with all parts, decals, stand and plans.

Dated 1978 and from highly detailed Aurora molds. When Monogram purchased the Aurora molds, they only reissued the few kits that met their quality standards; this was one of them. Aurora really pulled out all of the stops. It features the famous 3.5L straight 6 engine, full engine compartment, opening hood, detailed front and rear suspension, driveline and exhaust, excellent interior, opening doors, opening trunk and more. It is molded in multiple colors, just like the Aurora kit: the body parts are a deep gloss burgundy and the other parts in tan, chrome plate and clear. The clear parts are 'excellent+' and the chrome is also. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes instructions. Please note that Monogram did not issue this kit with decals.
