Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Exc

$44

Hardbox issue is copyright dated 1965. Purchased new on May 12, 1966 at S.S. Kresge Department Store in Cleveland, Ohio. The flaws in the Lockheed Electra airliner ensured that it had a short service life in commercial service. But the sound design was modified into one of the most successful and long-serving of all ASW aircraft - the Orion. Revell seized upon this opportunity to recoup some of the money sunk into the Electra molds. The molds were modified to make this kit, the 'A' version of the venerable patrol aircraft. Features optional position landing gear and loading door and movable wheels and props. The kit has never been started. The parts are still in the internal factory sealed bags and includes decals and instructions.

The 1891 Panhard was among the very first 'modern' cars and with it's groundbreaking innovations was certainly the grandfather of the present day automobile. Rare kit of this historic automobile from when France clearly lead the automotive world in technology and quality. This happened largely because the French people, government and authorities embraced the horseless carriage; this was the opposite of what happened in most countries, especially Great Britain where they regulated it almost completely out of existence. Nicely detailed and molded with about 75 parts. Features detailed steering linkage that looks like it functions, detailed chassis, full suspension for the front and rear, spoke wheels, driveline, all driver's controls & accessories and more. There is a large instruction manual with numbered parts layout, completely illustrated step-by-step instructions and text instructions and automobile history in French. The kit has never been started. The parts are still in the internal factory sealed bags and includes instructions.

Features separately molded ailerons, elevators and rudder, two pilots and two standing figures. This kit has never been started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions. Box art is by the famous Jo Kotula who did 1930s covers for the magazine 'Model Airplane News' and later the Aurora box art of the late 1950s. Air Lines kits are all Frog molds that the Lines Brothers imported to the USA between 1964-1966. The kits, decals and instructions were made in England, then imported to the USA where Testors created the boxes with the colorful trading cards on the back. There are one or two trading cards on each box which show the boxart but not the advertising/logo. Some kits contain a Testors color painting guide also, but it is not specific to any model.

Cleveland Great Lakes Trainer - Flying Model Airplane, 1/16, SF-1G

Wood Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good

$110

This is a Cleveland 'SF' or 'Scale Flying' model in museum scale of 1/16. This is the early cardboard box with the silver printing. All Cleveland kits were exceptionally complete and this one is no exception. Features very high quality balsa printwood and strip wood, covering material, highest quality plans, all parts required for assembly and decals (if issued with the kit). The model has not been started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts and instructions. The Cleveland Model and Supply Company played a pivotal role in the development of true scale models. In 1909 Bleriot's English Channel flight caused a surge in aviation and model aircraft around the globe. Several companies were ideally positioned to take advantage of the aviation craze. In the USA, Wading River Manufacturing Co. (1909), White Aeroplane (1911), Ideal Model Aeroplane (1911), Broadfield Model Aeroplanes (1919) were among these pioneers, offering everything from plans and parts to complete kits and ARF models. Lindbergh's 1927 crossing of the Atlantic Ocean caused an even bigger world-wide phenomenon called "The Aviation Craze" that extended up to the start of World War II. Many companies such as Megow, Guillow's and others started right around the time of Lindbergh's flight. Some of these models flew and flew well, but they all had one thing in common - were generally not accurate scale representations. In 1929, a youngster named Ed Packard had a very advanced dream- to produce incredibly accurate, true scale models that flew perfectly. This radical idea established the world's longest running single-owner (77 years) model airplane business- Cleveland Model and Supply Company. To this day, Cleveland models are treasured as the most accurate flying scale models produced. The fact that Mr. Packard started and successfully grew this business during The Great Depression is a testament to his ideals and business skill. I highly suggest the excellent book called 'Aviation's great Recruiter- Cleveland's Ed Packard' by H.L. (Herm) Schreiner. It is an excellent history of the man, his company and the times of the Golden Age of Model Aviation.

Monogram Rommel's Rod With Two Trading Cards - The Desert Fox's Krazy Kommand Kar - Designed by Tom Daniel, 1/24, PC225-6745

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good-

$145

Rare first issue dated 1969. Not the common reissue. The box is complete and has four solid corners, but there is writing as shown and bug damage oddly restricted to the edges. This is a wonderful and fun kit with machine guns, two skeletons, detailed engine and interior, removable hood and more. Molded in the correct tan, clear, chrome plate and with rubber tires. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. Decals and instructions are 'very good++' and the small Monogram fold-out catalog is included. Also includes the two original trading cards that each measure 3.5 x 2.5 inches. One is for Rommel's Rod (this kit) and the other is for Tom Daniel's Swee'T'ee Model T Street and Show Rod. The Swee'T'ee card has 'very good+' centering, new color and gloss and the only real flaws are three small chips at the very edge of the white border. The car image is flawless. Rommel's Rod has only 'good to fair' centering. The image is flawless but there are several chips at the very edge of the white border.
