Aurora Crown Logo Blue Knight of Milan 1520, 1/8, K2-98

In the mid 1950s, Aurora bought three 'Knight' molds from Crown Plastics and issued them as K1, K2 and K3. These were the very first Aurora figure kits. The early Aurora 'Northern Lights' logo has the correct 'Crown Line' logo inside it. Inside, the kit is mint. The shiny, very dark blue plastic parts are complete and there is a red feather plume. The instructions are correct with the Crown logo in the Aurora logo.

Includes markings for one "B" (956) and two different "A" - 974 is a standard SR-71A and 972 is a 'Low Observable" scheme. Decals are included for the CIA A-12 / M-12, but Testors never did furnish the parts. The instructions provide drawings for making the proper modifications. Never started. First issue from the early 1950s. Rare, big 1/48 scale kit. Please note the early Aurora rectangular logo, which was used from about 1953 to 1955. The kit has never been started. Inventoried 100% complete including 'excellent' condition, flat decals and instructions and even includes the original factory tissue paper. NOTE: although the kit is complete, 1/8 inch (.31cm) of one-half of a tip tank is gone - it either broke off or was short shot.

Randles Hiller Helicopter XH-44 - The Hiller-Copter, 110E

Very rare kit from the mid 1940s. This is a large (6.5 inch LOA and a 13 inch rotor span) model of this 1944 craft. Features profile (2D) cut fuselage, hardwood rotor blades, factory cut rotor mount, wood stock as required, an envelope of small parts and a glass bottle of wood cement (dried up). Includes excellent full size plans with templates, detail drawings, construction tips and history. Never started and complete. Randles was another name for Ranco and may have simply been the deluxe version of the Ranco kits as they shared the same address. Just a few of those kits include the B-29, Cessna Bobcat, Sikorsky Helicopter and Kellett Auto Giro. There is evidence that they made boat kits also.

Very rare first issue. This box art was only used for one year (or less) in 1957, then the more common 'ground' artwork was used till production ceased. A nice kit for that time, it features including retracting landing gear, removable tail section, detailed and removable jet engine, pilot, some cockpit detail and more. Never started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts in the correct high-gloss early issue light grey. Features the correct 1st issue instructions showing the early stand, large rectangular-based stand and decal sheet correctly lacking the stand decal.
