Comet Aeronca K Floatplane - 25 inch Wingspan Flying Balsa Airplane Model, 3208

Late 1960s reissue of the 1950s kit. Features traditional wood/tissue construction, quality printwood sheets, pre-cut balsa stringers and spars, detailed full size plans, building instructions, clear material for windows, tissue and propeller. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes instructions. Comet was a famous manufacturer of stick and tissue flying and static models. In the 1930s Great Depression, they lead the low-priced kit revolution with the "Dime Scale" kits and famous advertisements in Model Airplane News magazine and others. Comet reached it's peak in the 1930s when they acquired the services of Carl Goldberg. Goldberg was a highly accomplished modeler with articles in Model Airplane News and famous designs that won him several National level competitions in the 1930s and beyond. (Carl Goldberg went on to found his own company and produced well designed and popular free-flight and RC aircraft). Comet survived the post World War economic slump and continued kit production until they were bought out by long-time competitor Guillow's in 1998.

Aoshima Yawatamaru Pacific Ocean Liner, 1/700, WLEO97

1/700 scale waterline kit that is very highly detailed and finely molded. Never started and inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. Yawata Maru was one of the three Nitta Maru class NYK Line passenger ships commissioned in the late 1930s. All three were converted to aircraft carriers. Yawata Maru was launched on October 31, 1939 from her builder, Mitsubishi Shipbuilding & Engineering Co. at Nagasaki. She did see peacetime service as an ocean liner for a short period on the Pacific route to America. After war was declared, Yawata Maru was rebuilt at Kure Naval Yard as the Taiyo-class escort carrier Unyo. She had a very active war career but was sunk by two torpedoes from USS Barb on September 17, 1944.

Features detailed engine, opening hood, many chrome plated parts, detailed suspension and exhaust, full interior, clear windows, optional soft top and scale positionable figure. Also includes a full color racing scene backdrop with holders. Never started. All the parts that were factory sealed are still sealed; the parts that were not (clear and chrome) have been inventoried complete. With instructions and decals. The decals are flat and 100% intact but NOTE: they have typical and very fine age micro-cracking. Same as the Testors kit as Italeri originally cut the molds. Very nicely detailed kit that features very fine fabric texture on the airframe parts, full cockpit, complete interior including troop benches, wheels and skids and two paratroopers. Includes markings for all three aircraft. Never started and inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. The Waco CG-4 was designed and initially built by Waco Aircraft Company of Troy, OH. It first saw action in Sicily and the operation was termed a disaster. This likely had more to do with planning than the actual glider. Missions in Europe, including D-Day, went much better. The glider was even deployed to Burma. It could carry up to 13 troops, or a jeep and four men, or a 75mm Field Gun.

This one includes markings for 347th Fighter Group, New Caledonia, detached from the 13th Air Force Guadalcanal 1943, 18th Fighter Group Philippines, 5th Air Force and 14th Fighter Group, Algeria 1942.

Still factory round-tape sealed. Large scale (1/125) 1982 issue that is well detailed and measures over 20 inches long when assembled. U-99 was one of the most active and successful early boats under the command of Otto Kretschmer. She survived 7 active patrols but was sunk on the 8th patrol on March 17, 1941. 40 of the crew survived the sinking, including Kretschmer, who accounted for the greatest tonnage of shipping sunk by any commander in WWII.

1975 release of the cut-away version of the famous "Snorting Bull" of Gunther Prien. Prien and his men survived 11 sailings but were lost on the 12th. On his second sailing, Prien made history by sailing into the British Base of Scapa Flow and sinking HMS Royal Oak. Never started. Inventoried with all plastic parts present and instructions. NOTE: Missing decals, which are simply two bulls (one for each side of the conning town).
