Monogram RB-66A Destroyer Blue Box Issue, 1/83, PA204-130

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Sealed Exc++

Sold

Still factory sealed. This is the original 1967 issue, not the 1990s reissue. Nicely molded and from the original 'Four Star' molds. Features rear gun turret, cockpit with three crew, opening bomb bay and bomb. Molded in silver and clear. When the Air Force phased out the B-66, they converted many into ECM aircraft, hence the RB-66A. Monogram seized this opportunity as a new lease on life for the B-66 molds and the result was this issue as RB-66 aircraft were being used in Vietnam in the late 1960s.

Revell Avro Dam Buster Lancaster With Secret Bomb, 1/72, H202

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good++

Sold

1960s softbox issue. Features specially modified Lancaster fuselage with Dam Buster bomb and release mechanism. Landing gear retracts, props and wheels turns and control surfaces move. There is no assembly but NOTE: one fuselage half is painted black. There is no other painting. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. The instructions have a minor bit of black on paint on them. The Dam Busters squadron was famous for its daring raids on three German dams on May 16, 1943. Carrying the special Barnes Wallis-designed bombs, the Lancasters flew very low over the water in the face of heavy flak to drop the rotating bombs perfectly. Many did not return. The bombs did perform as promised, first skipping over the water, hitting the dam, then rolling down 30 feet before exploding with tremendous force. In an airburst, these bombs would not have damaged the dams, but since water is incompressible, the dams were breached.

The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. NOTE: the box displays better but is graded 'very good+' because there are some age spots on one short box side.

OldModelKits SS Normandie Ocean Liner 1935, 1/350

Resin Model Kit,   Box Condition: Sealed Mint

Sold

$950

Email for availability.

Oldmodelkits.com has received exclusive world-wide license from French Lines/CGT to produce and sell the SS Normandie in 1/350 scale. This nine-year project is a 100% new kit. Seven of those years were spent accurately modeling the ship from scratch in TurboCAD. All this design work was done by a master modeler and engineer who helped pioneer industrial CAD and 3D printing at GM. This limited-run kit represents the Normandie from her 1935 maiden voyage to New York and has over 1,100 individual parts. The hull and larger parts are pressure-cast resin from de-aired molds. There are two large photoetched brass sheets (one for railings, ladders, details, etc. and one for the davits), three sheets of laser-cut, real wood printed decking (from Scale Decks), decals, flag sheet and a DVD with detailed, highly illustrated instructions including painting guide, step-by-step rigging instructions and research material. NOTE: this kit must be shipped insured.

Otaki Boeing 727 JAL Tone, 1/220

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Sealed Good

Sold

Still factory sealed but the seal has drawn the box top concave. Very rare first issue from the early 1960s; note the old logo and there is no part number. The model represents an early 'short' -100 and features very fine raised detail, full landing gear, a display stand and stunning early JAL full color decals just like the box art aircraft. This was back when airlines would name aircraft, and this one is 'Tone,' which is a river in Japan. Otaki was started by Mr. Masaru Otaki in 1960, which is the same year that Tamiya went into business. Early Otaki kits have this unique logo and no part number; many are so rare that they are not documented yet. Otaki was only around for two decades, going out of business in 1980 due to financial difficulties.

Otaki A-4A Skyhawk US Marines, 1/72

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG++

Very, very rare, probably from 1960 or 1961. Early Otaki high-gloss box art kit with no part number and the first logo. Features clear canopy, refueling probe, full landing gear, centerline drop tank, 6 under-wing rockets and marine decals. Molded in dark green and clear. The instructions list it as an A-4A, which it may well be. The kit has never been started. Inside, it is factory-fresh with all parts still sealed in the original clear bag with the decals and with instructions in great condition. Even the original tube of glue is included. Please note, this kit is normally listed as 1/72, so I have listed it as such. By the wingspan, it is 1/78 scale.
