This high performance follow-up to the F-102 enjoyed a successful and long service life; I can remember seeing them in 'Alert 5' shelters at the Florida Air National Guard base at Jacksonville International in the 1980s. Kit is well detailed and features external tanks, optional position missile bay doors and a full load of Falcon Aim-4 E/F Air-to-Air Missiles. The B-29 raids on the Japanese home islands caught the Army and Navy Airforces unprepared. The S1A1 Denko and Ki-108 were far from successful at this role, so Kawasaki tried using the Ki-102 ground attack variant (derived from the Ki-96 and Ki-108) in a high altitude role. The aircraft were converted and saw service against B-29s at the end of the war, but only 238 were built. Very highly detailed model with many photoetched details. Never started. Famous German Flying Boat built in 1929. Dornier dreamed that this huge aircraft would become a trans-oceanic airliner with passengers traveling in oceanliner-like luxury. A tour of South and North America was conducted, but orders never materialized due to excessive fuel consumption and a lack of power. Total load was 170 passengers and crew, and the 12 engines developed 7200 HP. Kit has over 110 parts and a 13 inch wingspan. Never started.
