Hard-to-find 1964 issue with the 'transparent' blue oval logo and no 'Starburst' or 'Famous Fighters'. The box is in fantastic near mint condition with brilliant like-new color and gloss. The artwork is still the 1957 classic from Jo Kotula artwork. The original issue was a 98 cent price extension. Aurora had several price hikes between 1957 and 1964, but oddly enough this kit still has the 98 cent extension. Molded in gloss olive drab and black - still contains the ground base as the original issue. The kit has never been started. Early hardbox issue. Includes decals for two JSDF Training Squadrons. Very nicely molded kit with very fine raised panel lines, cockpit and gear well detail, two pilot and drop tanks. Never started. The design was very successful and remained in service until 2006.
