One of the "Holy Grail" of 1950s Space Kits. 1957 first and only issue 'S' kit with the fantastic box art. Molds reportedly damaged beyond use, which makes reissues impossible. The spaceship was designed by the rocket scientist Ellwyn E. Angle of Systems Laboratories Inc. Features detailed manned top stage with full interior, removable top, opening hatch, spaceship and ground crew members and detailed working launch pad. The main stages and boosters snap apart to recreate all phases of the flight from Earth takeoff, Lunar Landing and Return to Earth. The included 'XSL-01 Operations Manual' outlines in words and illustrations each phase of the trip on the spaceship. Never started. 100% inventoried complete with all parts, decals and instructions present.

Rare 'near future' space model of a proposed nuclear powered lunar landing craft from 1959. The kit is in exceptional condition. The box has no splits, fading, stains or price tags. The only flaws are a short light crease in the upper left and lower right corners. The model was designed by Krafft A. Ehricke of Convair Astronautics Division, who also designed the Revell Space Shuttlecraft and some of the famous Strombecker Space kits. All phases of the flight can be recreated with the model. It features the launching pad, 6 crew figures, fully separating stages, retractable landing gear and movable control surfaces on the first stage (twisting the nose actually lowers the landing gear and power cables), removable control capsule on the second stage, gondola cables reel in and out, detailed living platform that can be viewed through an operating hatch and more - the kit has 13 total moving parts. Correctly molded in three colors: silver, ice blue and dark blue. This kit has never been started. It has been 100% inventoried complete with all parts, decals and instructions present. Other than very slight yellowing, the decals and instructions are mint.

Rare action kit from the early 1960s. The ship sails in the water with an electric motor driving all four propellers. You can program the steering via the Cam-A-Matic drive to do any number of patterns. While underway, the aircraft elevators move up and down and the ship launches aircraft. Inside, the kit has never been started and is like new. The original display cardboard is present and all parts are still in the factory bags and the decals and instructions are included. The kit is advertised 'For the Advanced Hobbyist' on the box top and I would agree. There are a great many parts and no shortage of moving features and complications. ITC did not shy away from making advanced kit like this and the diving Halibut submarine (dives, surfaces, steers patterns and launches a Regulus II missile) but many kits were returned by frustrated parents and children who did not have the experience to build more complicated models. However, when built properly, they worked and they worked well.

Sealed issue from 1969. Fantastic box artwork. CV-6 has a combat record unequaled in history of the US Navy and is considered the most Successful Warship in History. Her totals were as follows: 20 Battle Stars, 911 Aircraft Destroyed and 71 Ships Sunk. She took part in almost every major action of the Pacific war from 1941 to 1945. The fascinating history of this ship is told by Commander Edward P. Stafford, USN, in his legendary book "The Big E - The Story of the USS Enterprise." Kit is over 20 inches long and includes a one piece hull, SBD scout-bombers, moving cranes, decals and flags.
