Early hardbox issue from the 1950s. Fantastic Ray Gaedke artwork. Very large and nicely detailed kit that includes an electric motor, battery holder, contacts and three-prop drive for operation in water. The rudders are adjustable also. NOTE: this kit has been started. The torpedo tubes and rear hatch and vents have been assembled. This was done with Ambroid (wood glue), so the torpedo tubes have fallen completely apart. There is no other assembly and no painting. NOTE: missing the small switch lever (easily made from stock plastic). Otherwise inventoried with all other parts, flags, decals, electric motor, contacts, metal prop shafts, stanchions and antenna. Includes instructions. This kit has a fascinating history. It was originally produced by Varney in 1944 as a multi-media model. It was novel at the time as it had a wooden hull and cardstock deck but all injection molded tenite deck parts and details. That made it one of the first US ship kits to have extensive injection molded parts. But the world was not ready for this type of kit and dealers were hesitant to carry it - which resulted in low sales. Gorden Varney sold the molds for the kit to O-lin (Olsen and Lindberg). O-Lin reworked the kit using a vacuform hull, cardstock and tenite parts. When Lindberg took full control of O-lin, he went to an injection molded hull, colorful cardstock 'wood' deck and all polystyrene parts for the first Lindberg issue. The second issue was all plastic with the metal stanchions and hand rails. The third Lindberg issue - and that is this kit-was motorized and had metal antenna and stanchions.

Very rare investment condition, factory sealed kit. The B-17 Bomber Formation has always been one of the highest value Aurora aircraft kits, and this one is the finest example available. The factory cello seal is mint with no splits. The box is mint also with no fading or damage of any kind. The kit features three B-17 kits with special 'ground' bombing base with clear arm 'bomb' stands, special 'battle damaged' decals and poster. Issued with the TV program '12 O'clock High' in 1965. Shipping insurance is required.

Very early Comet issue in the three-color one piece 'flip top' box. The F-84 features recessed detail, in-flight configuration, stand and full decals. Never started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions. In the 1950s Comet made a beautiful line of small scale aircraft and missile models with colorful boxes. When Comet went out of business, these molds saw production for years with Aurora.

Large and very highly detailed multi-media model. Contains plastic, metal and rubber parts. Features working lights, engine was designed to be motorized (the Mabuchi 130 electric motor was not furnished by Nichimo), working expansion and contraction struts, real rubber tires, super detailed instrument panel and full interior. Engine detail is incredible and the motor is a kit itself. Each cylinder head is 31 parts - 30 of which are metal cooling fins. The engine alone is over 150 parts not including the firewall and detail there. Mold quality is very high; firewall detail is complete as in the actual aircraft. Five scale, positionable figures are included. Beautiful decals are included to reproduce the detailed two-tone blue striping on the box art. The kit has never been started. All parts are still in the factory bags. Includes instructions and decals in as-new condition.

Nicely detailed full hull kit that measures over 22 inches long when assembled. Features updated island structure, Sea Sparrow launchers, three Phalanx close in weapon systems and airwing of F-14, A-6, EA-6B, F/A-18 and S-3 Aircraft and SH-3 Seaking helicopters. Hillcrest 1910 Curtiss Pusher Model A, 1/48

Old and rare kit from the 1950s. When most kits were wood, Hillcrest has to put "Prefabricated Parts" on the cover to distinguish it from other models of the time. The kit has injection molded main parts in the frame of the actual aircraft. The small cello bag is still sealed and contains cast metal details such as the engine and tank and the clear molded wheel disks. The framework is to be covered in tissue which is supplied. The instructions have a very nice three view drawing, parts diagram and written instructions. The Curtiss Pusher Model A was designed and flown by Glenn Curtiss and made a record-breaking flight from Albany to New York. For millions of New Yorkers, it was the first aircraft that they ever saw. The large 100 hp V-8 engine allowed it to win and set a new world speed record at the first French International Air Meet. Additionally, it was the first airplane to land and take off from a Navy carrier. Never started. Inventoried complete with all parts and instructions.
