Strombecker was very well known for producing the finest pre-carved hardwood aircraft and missile kits, but they had a very short journey into the plastic model field. After making the Sea Dart kit in 1956, they added four more for a total of 5 injection molded aircraft kits. All were discontinued in the mid 1960s. One kit is this excellent X-1B. It is the rarer of the two releases as it contains the pilots bust molded into the fuselage (the other one does not). Includes full instructions with three photos of the real aircraft, full color decals and an application for the Strombecker Model-Makers Club. Kit features include landing gear, clear canopy and display stand. Never started. Factory sealed bag or inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions.

This '109 is the original issue dated 1971 and is a rare and humorous kit complete with story. Reportedly Weiner Moldy attacked his own 'blimp,' never noticing that it had huge Iron Crosses on the side. This sentenced him to three year of torture - watching Hogan's Heroes reruns. This kit is part of the Deal's Wheels collection designed by Deal himself. Very large-scale kit complete with figure. I guessed at the scale since it is not listed - pretty close to 1/32 or even 1/28. Molded in the correct light olive-drab and clear. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes excellent, correct sticker sheet and instructions.

Classic rare Cold-War kit. This SNAP issue dates from the very early 1960s and uses the same molds as the Adams 'Action' model from the late 1950s. The Atomic Cannon was the Army's 20 mile range gun that could fire shells with small atomic bombs inside them. Features transporters with movable wheels and towing yokes - fully detailed cab interiors and complete suspensions - machine guns swivel and elevate - Gun can be configured for firing or towing positions - Gun Barrel elevates by real operating gears - Gun Carriage rotates 360 degrees on platform - Gun actually fires 2 "Atomic" shells.
