Revell US Army Tactical Missiles Little John and Dart with Launchers 'S' Kit, 1/40, H1812-98

NOTE: please read carefully as this kit has been assembled. First issue from 1958 with 'S' box art. Little John was a light-weight free-flight rocket that was highly mobile. It could be pulled on it's launcher or transported by helicopter. Length was 12 feet long and the warhead was atomic. The Dart was a very early wire guided anti-tank missile with a solid propellant rocket motor. An optical rangefinder was used for guidance. It was 5 feet in length. The kit is well detailed. NOTE: the kit has been built. The Dart includes four missiles (three complete and one partial), one launcher, two stands(with one support post missing, applied decals, one optical guidance unit and a crew of three. The Little John includes a detailed launcher with elevating rails, movable support legs, applied decals and crew of three. No kit parts have been painted. The quality of construction is average. The glue is old and some parts are falling off, while others remain strongly assembled. There is some visible glue that will need to be sanded off. The instructions are photocopies.

Very highly detailed moldings with full interior. Includes metal details, strut material and full decals. Never started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions. 272 G100 and F102 Elephants were produced. Originally designed as a fighter, they served during WWI on the Western Front, Palestine (as an Australian Squadron) and in Mesopotamia. It was obvious that the aircraft did not have good fighter qualities, but the Elephant did perform well on reconnaissance, ground attack and bombing missions. They were phased out of combat in 1917, and the last one left service in 1919.

Scale Flight Model Company in Bloomington, Indiana, USA was dedicated to releasing authentic reproductions of the finest "Dime Scale" flying model (stick and tissue) kits from the 1930s/40s. Dime Scale models used to sell for a dime in the 1930's, hence the name. They are actually box scale, but as a general guideline, they usually had a wingspan of 16 inches and have simple and light construction. "Dime Scale" models are now a class flown in some competitions. Kit consists of contest grade printwood, contest quality strip wood, machine cut balsa propeller, the best Japanese tissue, wooden wheels, competition bushed nose plug, brass thrust washers, prop shaft, prop freewheeler, FAI rubber strip motor and a copy of a genuine dime scale plan that was used in the 1930s-1940s. The model has not been started. The parts are either in factory sealed bag(s) or inventoried 100% complete with all parts and instructions.

Very rare. A limited number this 737 and some DC-9 kits were made by Maquettes M&B (Scale Modelers M&B) of Ville de Lorraine, Canada and marketed by Sealand Imports, Ltd of Burnaby Canada. Inside is a very high quality large 1/100 scale Nitto DC-9 kit with very fine recessed panel lines, full instructions, a very large, colorful and complete Pacific Western decal sheet, decal placement sheet, and a very large foldout color poster of the Pacific Western 737. The kit has never been started. Internal factory sealed bags including decals and instructions.

1960s issue. Box is poor. Kit is mint and complete with decals and instructions. The Mauretania and her sister Lusitania were considered the finest and most beautiful ships of the day, both inside and out. Launched in 1907, she quickly won the Blue Riband from the 'Kaiser Wilhelm II' for the fastest Atlantic crossing. For more than 22 years she was the Queen of the Atlantic liners. She saw extensive service in WWI as an armed cruiser, transport and hospital ship. In 1922 she was converted from coal to oil and set another record in 1931 when she crossed the Atlantic 4 times in one month. Sadly, she was scrapped in 1935 as the Queen Mary neared completion.
