Large parasol free flight model for .049 power by one of the pioneers and leaders in model aviation. Carl Goldberg was a gifted designer of model aircraft, and his career spanned the evolution of flying models. His designs and number of titles won in competition at the Nationals is legendary. His first competition was the 1928 Nationals, where he received honorable mention. By 1934 he won the indoor Nats and in 1935 he opened a Hobby Shop, among the first in the nation (the first one was probably opened by Cleveland Models Ed Packard). Awards came quickly. He wrote articles for Model Airplane News, and was Comet's top designer from 1939 till 1945. After Comet, he worked with Mike Schlesinger and Sid Axelrod on what eventually became Top-Flite Models. In 1955 he founded Carl Goldberg Models and released a still-popular line of scale, rubber, gas, glider and RC models. The model has not been started. The parts are either in factory sealed bag(s) or inventoried 100% complete with all parts and instructions.

Very rare kit. Revell Japan issue dated 1960 and with English and Japanese instructions - which were required since this model was originally sold at the Queen Mary Toy and Hobby Shop. The box has excellent color and gloss with four solid corners. Light general wear as shown. Model features detailed deck fittings, lifeboat, davits, outside stabilizers, movable cargo booms, swimming pools, textured 'water' foil, flag sheet and display stand. Never started. Rare ex-Comet kit and the first Aurora issue as evidenced by the 98 cent price extension. When Aurora bought the Comet molds in 1963, they released this kit for the next few years but never again. Features recessed panel detail, spinning counter-rotating props and tilting wing. The aircraft is considered the 'Grandfather of the V-22 Ospry'. Never started.
