The aircraft 'Smoke II' took part in the Vietnam war, and here is the bio from Arizonawrecks.com - '1 August 1966, at the same time that Capt Kwortnik's flight was encountering intense ground fire, another flight of Starfighters was escorting F-105 Wild Weasels over Thai Nguyen when one of them suddenly turned into a ball of flame. This was assumed to be another SA-2 SAM hit, and the pilot Lt. Colonel Arthur Thomas Finney was posted as missing, later KIA (his remains were returned to the USA 14 August 1985). This aircraft had the nickname "Smoke II" on its nose.'

First, there are decals for a total of two aircraft. Second, the huge 16.5" x 11.5" instruction front page is a full-color, glossy painting guide for the model and also has a large color photo of the assembled kit. Large-scale and well detailed (for that time) model of the British night fighter with airborne interception radar. The Beaufighter was flown by aces such like Flt./Lt. "Cat's Eyes" Cunningham, whose markings are included. His final score stood at 20 victories and his aircraft is one that can be depicted in this model. Features detailed Bristol Hercules engines, removable cowling, two flight crew, optional position landing gear, full crew cockpits and radar antenna. Never started. The parts are still in the internal factory sealed bags and includes decals and instructions. My friend and model builder Stephen Payne high recommends that the purchaser of any Beaufighter Night Fighter model invests in a copy of the book "Night Fighter" by C.F. Rawnsley. Rawnsley was John Cunningham's Airborne Intercept radar operator throughout WWII in both Beaufighters and Mosquitoes. The book is the story of their time and combat together and makes excellent reading.
