Limited issue 1970s kit when AMT contracted with Hasegawa. Hasegawa made kits in Japan, and AMT put them in boxes to market them in the USA. The kit has never been started. Internal factory sealed bag including decals and instructions. From Steve Payne and Wiki - The U.S. Navy experimented with aircraft camouflage and painted half of the aircraft of CVW-11 with dark green colours to blend in with the Vietnamese jungle. The results proved inconclusive for the U.S. Navy, whereas the U.S. Air Force concluded that the camouflage was effective. U.S. Navy planes would not be camouflaged until the 1980s. Box art is of U.S. Navy North American RA-5C Vigilante aircraft (BuNo 150834) of Heavy Reconnaissance Squadron RVAH-13 Bats in flight over the Gulf of Tonkin. 150834 was one of three replacement aircraft for RVAH-13 on this deployment, as the squadron had lost three of its six aircraft. RVAH-13 was assigned to Carrier Air Wing 11 (CVW-11) aboard the aircraft carrier USS Kitty Hawk (CVA-63) for a deployment to Vietnam from 19 October 1965 to 13 June 1966.

1970s Hi-Vis issue. Nicely detailed. The kit has never been started. Inventoried 100% complete including decals and instructions. Over 1000 Trackers were completed for the Navy as carrier-based submarine hunters. Grumman was awarded the contract in 1950, and in 1952 the first XS2F-1 flew. The large belly radome contained the PAS-38 search radar and the ASQ-10 MAD detector was in the tail. ALD-3 ECM performed DF (direction finding) duties, and the 70 million candle power spotlight lit up targets at night. Sonobuoys were held in both engine nacelles and offensive weapons included acoustic torpedoes, depth charges, rockets and conventional bombs. Trackers saw service in several other Navies including Canada.

Rare 1976 release is still factory sealed but the seal has splits. This is a very large kit, 36 inches long and 27 inches high. Highly detailed and has the correct changes for this ship. Includes sails and full rigging. The Revell model depicts the vessel as modified for use as a flagship, with a much enlarged, rebuilt stern and "roundhouse." Writer Herman Melville's (apparentlyunenthusiastic) service on this vessel, including many details of equipment and life aboard, is detailed in his autobiographical novel, "White-Jacket"(1850).

Still factory sealed. Large and nicely detailed kit from 1985. The HH-53 used improved versions of the rotors, gearboxes and control systems from the Skycrane to achieve heavy lift capability. In Vietnam, these helicopters would actually lift wreaked aircraft from the crash site and return them to base for spare parts, repair, or simply to keep them out of enemy hands. Features full cockpit and interior detail, opening cargo doors and swing-down ramps, rotating rotors and wheels, external tanks and refueling boom. Includes payload of one Army Jeep and 105mm Howitzer.

Rare kit from 1969. Completely transparent and large kit has full internal detail with fuselage framing, cockpit and engine. Fuselage is 20 inches long; rotors are almost 2 feet in diameter. Motor turns main and tail rotors with the batteries hid in the base. Sound unit makes "chop-chop" sound. 184 parts in 6 colors. The outer box is one of the best I have seen. This kit is exceptional in that is still Factory Sealed inside! This is the only time I have seen one sealed. It is similar to how the B-52 was internally sealed; the shrink wrap is on the outside, the 'show' parts on the top of the cardboard, and all other parts are stored below with the instructions, decals etc. I can look inside and see that the clear fuselage halves have no breaks or cracks, they are mint (damage was common to these).
