First issue hardbox from 1962. This box has, in my opinion, some of the best Jack Leynnwood box art. Jack primarily did Revell artwork, but since he was freelance, he did others as well. At this point, the XB-70 was planned for production, so the kit is called the B-70 and the artwork shows a winter night-time quick turn around of a SAC B-70 while another Valkyrie roars overhead after takeoff. Very large kit with 6 detailed General Electric J93-3 engines, landing gear and clear canopy. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. Box would grade much better but has a crease along the bottom 1/4 as shown. NOTE: decal backing paper and instructions have light bug damage. Decals would grade 'very good.' One 'USAF' decal has an age crack. Before using any older kit decals, please see the two articles on this website about restoring and saving old decals.

1987 reissue of the kit from 1967. Measures over 20 inches long and includes a full one piece hull, propeller and rudder detail, B-25 Mitchell medium bombers, moving cranes, decals and flags. There is no assembly but there is very neat painting as follows: the B-25s are painted to 'excellent+' quality as the ship's name plate is also painted to 'excellent+' quality. There is no other painting. Inventoried and NOTE: only 11 of 16 B-25s are present, so 5 are missing. Otherwise includes all other pieces, decals and instructions.

Hard to find motorized scale kit of the huge aircraft carrier. Has 343 parts. Kit features detailed AA guns, full air wing, motor drive on two shafts through a metal gearbox and a electric motor. The kit has never been started. The parts are still in the internal factory sealed bags and includes decals and instructions. The Shinano was originally laid down as the third unit of the Yamato class super battleships; but the carrier losses at Midway prompted the Japanese to convert the hull into a huge aircraft carrier, the Shinano. The ship never saw action as it was sunk by a submarine while transiting to another base.

Large-scale kit designed for water operation; ideal for remote control. Includes RE-280 motor, metal running gear including steel gearbox with nylon gears and drive on all four props. The motorized kit is long out of production and is very easy to convert to R/C. Very well detailed. NOTE: the hull below the waterline has been airbrushed red. I don't think that was done at the factory but I could be wrong. Quality of paint is excellent. There is no other painting and zero assembly. Most parts are still in the factory sealed bags; the few bags that were opened have been inventoried complete. With decals and instructions.

1987 reissue of the original 1967 kit. Very nicely done kit. Features 20 SBDs, 20" long hull, movable cranes and optional position elevators. The box art shows the wartime finish, but the kit contains decals for this or the prewar high-vis finish. The kit has never been started. Inside it is still factory bag sealed and includes decals and instructions. The Yorktown was one of three prewar sister carriers along with Enterprise (CV-6) and Hornet (CV-8). The Yorktown saw extensive action in the Coral Sea and underwent temporary repairs in record time so she could take part in the Battle of Midway. Damaged by bombs and eventually a spread of submarine-fired 'Long Lance' torpedoes, she was lost after an epic struggle to save the ship.
