The first crossing of the Atlantic Ocean was in April of 1838 and took just over 15 days. Danton was launched on June 4, 1909 at Breast and entered service on June 1, 1911 in the Mediterranean Squadron. The German submarine U-64 sank her on March 19, 1917 off Sardinia; the wreckage was discovered in 2009 by a geological engineering company.

Aurora The Barnstormers Customizing Kit DH-4 and JN-4 Jenny, 1/48, 200-198

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Exc

$179

Rare one-and-only 1960 issue that contains both the DH-4 and Curtis JN-4 Jenny. The box is in exceptional condition with 'excellent' color and gloss, four solid corners, no tape or price tags (and no marks from either), no stains, fading or torn/missing litho. Very light wear and edge wear are the only significant flaws. Aurora really went out of the way to make this a special kit; however, it did not sell well and was retired after one year. Features completely new box artwork, a DH-4 molded in gloss dark green and black, the JN-4 molded in gloss bright yellow and black, great custom decal sheets for both aircraft and special 'Barnstormer' instructions for each aircraft. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts present and includes decals and instructions. The instructions sheets are both in 'near mint' condition and the decal sheets are both completely flat with the typical age yellowing as the only significant flaw.

AMT 1952 Studebaker Commander Coupe Key-Wind Promo, 1/25

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Exc

$42

Original dealer promotional model. AMT went to a good deal of effort on this model. It features a all-metal chassis with a keywind motor, metal axles and gear, metal front bumper & metal rear bumper and clear in all 9 windows. Plastic color is a stunning midnight blue that still has excellent gloss. The body is very good and only has slight warping compared to most. Clear is very nice but can use cleaning. The tires are like new - if it was played with, it was not for long. No parts are missing and it is original except that some of the fine trim (door handles, etc) has been very neatly adult painted. The quality is good enough to pass for factory paint.

Ideal Aeroplane & Supply Golden Hind Flagship of Sir Francis Drake - 18 Inch Long, 318

Wood and Metal Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG+

$159

Rare kit from 1950 that is in amazing condition. This is one of Ideal's rare top of the line ships, the 'flagships' of the line. Measures 18 inches LOA when assembled and features an 80%+ precarved solid wood hull, four large bages of numerous factory-sealed cast metal fittings (well over 100 pieces), realistic deck grate material, seven sheets of quality printwood, other completely precarved and shaped wooden parts, a large sheet of beautiful sail cloth, masts, yards and wood stock in many sizes, running and standing rigging material, full color flag sheet insignia and more. Includes excellent full size plans and instructions which look like they have never been opened. However, since I have seen the plans, I can tell you that they show numerous sectional and detail view of the ship and even a painting guide. There is a separate instruction sheet, which was unusual for Ideal. Inside, this kit is factory-new. The fittings are all sealed in the original clear factory bags, which are neatly stapled to the light blue Ideal 'parts card.' the sail cloth, masts & yards and printwood are all held together by the original factory rubber bands. The hardwood turned mast parts are still sealed in the factory wax paper bag. Even the original (wadded) factory packing paper is present. The box is the finest I have seen, but NOTE that the corners had split; I have correctly repaired them from the inside using cardstock and book binding glue.

Ideal Aeroplane & Supply Marion Sprague Three Masted Schooner 1899 - 29 Inches Long, 601

Wood and Metal Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG

$265

Very rare, large-scale deluxe edition from the late 1940s/very early 1950s. This version is hardly ever seen. Measures 29 inches long and 16 inches high when built. Features a 90%+ cut factory wooden hull, four factory sealed bags of metal fittings (over 100 fittings total), a large sheet of beautiful sail cloth, numerous hardwood dowels and pre-cut square wood of many sizes, metal stock, two types of rigging thread,m colorful flag sheet and fantastic full size plans that have detailed assembly instructions and rigging diagrams. Inside, the kit is exactly as it left the factory. The fittings are all in clear bags stapled to the original Ideal 'blue' backing cardstock. Sail cloth, printwood and wood stock are all held together with the original factory rubber bands. Even the original factory packing tissue is present. The box is complete and very nice, but the corners are repaired from the inside correctly as they had split. The plans have never been unfolded but have some damage to one side from the way they were packed by Ideal. They are still completely usable. The three-masted Marion Sprague schooner was built in 1899. Being far more economical to operate than the large, two-masted schooner, they soon monopolized all coastal trade up and down the US seaboard after the civil war. Ideal was a famous producer of early model kits. In 1911 they released their first aircraft kit, which put them among the first USA model companies. Ideal was unique also in that they released large civil ships and ocean liners.

$659

SALE!! Rare. First issue dated 1969. Large and completely transparent with a 20 inch long fuselage and nearly 2 foot rotor diameter. Well detailed with 184 parts and structural members and full internal detail. Features complete cockpit, pilot and co-pilot figures, full cabin, opening cabin door, inner fuselage framing, detailed engine and more. In the display base with the batteries is an electric motor which turns the main and tail rotors while the sound unit makes "chop-chop" sound that varies correctly with main rotor speed. To minimize painting, the kit is molded in clear, zinc chromate green, black, chrome plate, gray, olive drab and flexible black/gray ammo belts. The clear fuselage halves have no breaks or cracks, they are mint. The kit has never been started. Inside, the original red cardboard presentation material is complete and in 'excellent+' condition. All parts have been inventoried 100% complete including motor, hardware, wire, decals and instructions. Please NOTE that the decals have bug damage to the backing paper and some transfers have damage also; I have included two sets of excellent reproduction decals: one on clear decal paper and the other on white decal paper. Detailed instructions are included for these aftermarket decals. The Phantom Huey box top and tray are thin, fragile and easily damaged. This one is no exception- it is 99+% complete, but on the box top I have correctly repaired two split corners and two closed tears (on the short sides) with cardstock and book binding glue. The box bottom has three closed split corners. NOTE: this kit must be shipped insured.
