1961 issue hardbox with dramatic Jo Kotula artwork. Nicely molded small scale kit with full main landing gear, outrigger gear and aux gas tanks on the outboard wings. Molded in silver and clear with the clear 'Triangle World' stand. The kit has never been started. NOTE: missing canopy. Otherwise inventoried with all other parts, decals and instructions. It is interesting to note that this kit is not a reissue of the Comet molds - this kit is original to Aurora. The Aurora kit is significantly larger that the Comet issue and varies in a great many details.

Early issue with colorful box artwork. Molded in silver and dark wood brown plastic. About 6 inches long when built. The kit has never been started. Inventoried 100% complete including instructions. The Gatling Gun was invented by Richard Jordan Gatling in about 1862. The first version fired .58 caliber bullets. Later improvements led to .30 caliber bullets being fired by a hand crank from a gravity fed magazine. Firing rate was 400 round per minute. The hand cranked gun stayed in production until 1911 and was first used during the US Civil War at the siege of Petersburg, Virginia. Palmer made a range of five field gun kits which included the Gatling Gun, Civil War Field Piece, Revolutionary War Cannon, Naval Cannon and 75mm World War I Artillery Piece. The original issues contained brass plated parts and chain or rope as necessary. The economy line was issued without brass plating or chain. Finally, there was a deluxe series that included extra parts such as limbers, carriers and caisson. Life-Like eventually purchased the molds and reissued the line in the mid to late 1970s, and Encore reissued some of them in 1993.
