Very high quality kit with legendary LS detail and moldings. Features all fine recessed panel lines, cockpit detail with crew, retractable landing gear, rotating wheels and propellers, separately molded ailerons and more. Includes beautiful full color painting guide and decals for multiple aircraft. The named aircraft are all special transports (the full history is included in great detail) and the Navy aircraft was a personnel transport. The model as never been started. NOTE: missing tiny part #21 'landing flare', which is easily made from pulled sprue or stock plastic. It looks like a light on the nose of the aircraft. Inventoried with all other parts, decals and instructions. The fact that Hasegawa still uses some LS molds testifies to their detail and accuracy.

The original internal frame structure and details of the aircraft is built from injection molded plastic. When complete, it is covered with a very strong fabric which is included. Russ Westfall. Decals are in mint condition and not used. The model itself is a bagged kit with no box. The box is shown for reference only. Perfect builder. This collector stored this and all of his kits in bags because of limited storage space. He was very precise; the canopy is bagged separate to prevent scratching, the small parts are in a zip lock for protection and then put into a larger sealed bag with the bigger parts and instructions. Decals are excellent. Very high quality kit that builds to a beautiful model. This is the 1983 issue with the wonderful 'The Turtle' nose art. Features full cockpit with sliding canopy, instrument panel, detailed pilot, seat, stick, gun sight, headrest and wheel wells. Includes two wing mounted 500 lb bombs and drop tank. Box is dated 1956 but this is the 1957-1959 issue with the sunburst logo and 'Famous Fighters'. The box originally had a 69 cent price extension, but the factory overstamped it and added the 79 cent extension.

1963 issue and still the only injection molded Apache kit. From ex-Comet molds. Features all recessed panel lines, clear windows, rotating propellers and color decals. Never started. NOTE: missing prop retainers (not seen and easily made) and stand. Inventoried with all other parts and excellent decals & instructions present. Aurora had started a line of inexpensive 29 cent kits in about 1957. The line was a success, and it was expanded. The line grew again when Aurora purchased the Comet molds, as most of Comet's line was very small scale kits, many of them civil aircraft like this one. It appears that Aurora was encouraged by the sale of the ex-Comet civil aircraft, as it expanded the line with it's own molds in the early 1960s.
