Very nicely molded resin waterline kit with very good detail. The kit has never been started. The parts are still in the internal factory sealed bags and includes illustrated instructions. This ship was named after the city of Sevastopol, built by Galerniy Yard, St. Petersburg, laid down in 1892, launched in June 1895. She was commissioned in 1897 and was based at Port Arthur. She fought in the Battle of the Yellow Sea, but failed to escape and was scuttled during the Siege of Port Arthur. the Japanese did not salvage her because she was too badly damaged and scuttled in deep water.

NOTE: excellent builder only, please read carefully below. Classic large 12.5 inch wingspan kit. Made of solid, completely precarved Western Pine - not balsa. Builds up to an impressive display model. Kit includes fuselage, wings, elevators, engine pylons and engine nacelles all cut to shape. Large and very well detailed USAF decal sheet is very good to excellent condition. NOTE: this kit has been professionally started, which is to the great advantage of the builder. All parts have been sanded to final shape, including correct airfoils on wings, stabilizers and rudder and engine pylons - including very sharp trailing edges on the wings and horizontal and vertical stabilizers. All parts have had sanding sealer applied and have been repeated sanded with very fine paper until they are perfectly smooth. The JATO holes have carved out in the fuselage. The clear canopies are in 'mint' condition. The decal sheet is in as-new condition, which is amazing. The stand and stand arm are missing, but all other parts are present. Includes full instructions in excellent condition. Before plastic kits were introduced, Strombecker was famous as the premier hardwood preshaped model manufacturer. In the 1940s and 1950s, Strombecker kits were flawlessly engineered but not inexpensive. All wooden parts are hardwood and are precarved to shape - usually only sanding would finish them.

Rare second logo issue. This issue also contains an original fold-out flyer from Silver City Airways LTD. The flyer shows gives a minute by minute breakdown of how simple and fast the Silver City Air Ferry is to use. There is a route map and 14 photos on the flyer also. Large and nicely done kit. Features movable control surfaces, opening cargo loading doors, loading ramps and crew as well as Silver Cities decals. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. The Superfreighter was an improved version of the Bristol Freighter. It was designed in 1952 and entered service in 1953 with Silver City Airways. Superfreighter's ease of maintenance, rugged design and ability to carry large loads made it immediately successful with the RAF and eight other air forces around the worlds, as well as with several airlines. Channel Air Bridge even operated a car ferry service across the channel.

Dated 1954. This is the finest H4 Liberator that I have seen. The box has like-new color and gloss, four solid corners and only light general wear. The inside is like new also. Classic early multi-media kit with a fantastic internal box presentation. Before injection molded plastic kits were common, Monogram issued the famous 'Speede-Bilt' and 'Super Kits' which featured injection molded details and precarved wooden parts. Of these, the Speede-Bilt B-24 and B-17 were the finest. These kits are rare today due to their relatively high price of $4.95. This example is inventoried 100% complete with all parts, glue, dope, decals, sand paper, plans and instruction book. The kit has never been started. Still has all internal packing as shown. Amazingly, the celluloid plastic parts range from no warping to very slight warping. This is very rare, as that type of plastic was unstable and warp easily over time. Instructions, decals and plans are 'near mint' also, as are the parts sheet. No parts have been punched out. This kit must be shipped insured.

Type three logo issue from the 1960s. Features movable control surfaces, opened or closed bomb bay with bombs, full crew and optional position undercarriage. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. Hampdens, along with Whitley and Wellingtons, formed the RAF's Heavy Bomber force at the outbreak of WWII. Dusty Rhodes provided more information on the box art aircraft - Hampden AE240 took off from RAF Scampton at 1443 hours on the 12th February 1942, detailed to attack the German battleships Scharnhorst and Gneisenau in the English Channel. Nothing was heard from the aircraft after take off and the aircraft and crew disappeared without trace. The Squadron lost 4 aircraft on this mission.

Very rare kit for the advanced collector. In the early 1950s Best Hobby Kits (Best Plastic Corporation of Brooklyn, NY) entered the infant USA plastic model kit market with a series of Indianapolis 500 winners. Six kits were issued - the 1920 Monroe Special, 1922 Murphy Special, 1931 Miller Special, 1935 Gilmore Special, 1940 Maserati Racer and 1953 Fuel Injection Special. The kits were priced correctly and featured 'Super Detailed' parts (for the time). It is unknown why the line failed to sell - it may have been distribution. Best was certainly not a large player in the business. The kit features real rubber Firestone racing tires, decals and some interior detail. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions.
