Revell Convair B-36 Giant Bomber - Pre-'S' Issue, 1/184, H205-98

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: NM-

Sold

1954 issue of this classic kit. Molded in the correct gloss silver and clear and with the famous clear 'Revelving Swivel Base.' The box is in 'near mint-' condition and has perfect color and gloss, four solid corners, no creases, fading or rips, no price tags or tag marks and no tape or marks (other than the factory sealing tape). The things keeping it from being 'near mint' or 'mint' are a slight discoloration to the left of the "C" in Convair, some very light wear and a very small (5mm by 2mm stain) on the long lower side. The kit has never been started. Inside it is like new. The small parts are still factory sealed in the small clear bag and the parts that were never sealed have been inventoried complete including decals and instructions. Instructions and decals are both in 'near mint' condition with age yellowing as the only flaw. This model has an interesting history. The first issue came out in the 'short' hardbox that had the full version of this artwork with a port and ocean scene in the background. The first version also had the one-piece stand arm and the instructions that reflected that. The second issue had the same artwork, but with a completely different background that gave better contrast. There may be a 'one-piece' stand arm version in this revised artwork, but I have yet to see one. After this is was issued in the "Air Power" artwork in many countries.

Decals are included for the CIA A-12 / M-12, but Testors never did furnish the parts. The instructions provide drawings for making the proper modifications.

It has factory-new color and gloss, four solid corners, no creases, stains or tears, no missing litho, and no price tags or tape (other than the factory sealing tape, of course). The only flaws are very light wear as shown. This issue has 'SeaMaster' in yellow on the box top; the other issue has it in red. Nicely molded jet seaplane includes the clear 'Revelving' globe display stand. The airplane is molded in gloss gray and clear. The kit has never been started. Monogram Boeing 2707-200 SST United Airlines, 1/400, PA211-100

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Sealed NM

Sold

Still factory sealed. This is the 1968 release of this kit, which may have only been issued twice. The Boeing SST was modeled here in the second (-200) variant which still had the swing-wing design which proved impractical in this aircraft. The damaging effects of sonic booms over population centers ultimately contributed to the cancellation of the project. Nicely molded with all recessed panel lines. Features wings that swing, United Airlines decals and a unique display stand.

Jo-Han 1958 Desoto Fireflite 4 Door Friction Drive Promo, 1/25

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Sealed NM

Sold

Original dealer promotional model in 'good-' condition. There body is straight until the front outer fenders, where they 'kick up' slightly. The body is flexible and you can bend them down with your hands. The original friction drive is intact. Baby Blue and Dark Blue color is original but has general wear and some age foxing as shown. The clear is 'very good' but can use cleaning. The tires are almost like new - if it was played with, it was not for long. No parts are missing and it is original except that the chassis has been painted black and some of the fine trim (door handles, trim, etc) has been correctly and very neatly adult painted. The quality is good enough to pass for factory paint.

Revell Barnstormers! Bob Hoover's P-51D Mustang and Joe C. Hughes Super Stearman with Wing Walker and Diorama, 1/72, H666

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good-

Sold

1976 issue. This kit is important because Revell was thoughtful enough to alter the venerable PT-17 molds to make a real Super Stearman featuring new cowling/engine, scoops as required and more. This is likely th only issue of the Super Stearman in this scale. Never started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. NOTE: the box is good- because of wear as shown and two lower split corners. Revell issued three of these 'Airshow' style kits in this year H664, H665 and H666. Each contained two aircraft and a color diorama base, backdrop and special stand. If you have all three kits, the three bases fit together to make a large Air Show diorama with all six aircraft.

Air Lines kits are all Frog molds that the Lines Brothers imported to the USA between 1964-1966. The kits, decals and instructions were made in England, then imported to the USA where Testors created the boxes with the colorful trading cards on the back.
