Funaro & Camerlengo USRA Caboose Central Vermont - Resin HO Craftsman Kit - Bagged, 1/87, C-512

Multimedia Model Kit,   Box Condition: Sealed

$25

Bagged kit that is still factory sealed. Very highly detailed modern craftsman kit. The main parts are cast from high definition resin, which is superior in detail to injection moldings. Smaller details are resin, plastic and metal as required. Includes detailed instructions and plans as well as extensive decals for Central Vermont.

Hobby-Time Bell XV-3 US Army Convertiplane, 1/43, 901-98

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: NM

$89

SALE!! From the 1950s. One and only issue in investment grade 'Near Mint: condition. I personally removed these kits from the original Hobby-Time shipping box - it is the first time they have seen light since the factory. There is very, very little wear - only as much you would expect from the original packing and boxing operations. This is a very nice kit for that time with fine raised panel lines, interior detail and molded in gloss silver and clear. The kit has never been started. The original 'krinkle' bag is present but brittle and cracked. I inventoried the parts and they are 100% present. The decals and instructions are in 'mint' condition.

Aurora French Nieuport 11, 1/48, 101-69

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Exc++

$64

Very rare 2nd issue that turns up less than the first (1956) release. For a long time I did not know this issue even existed. Please note the '69' cent price extension, sunburst oval logo with 'Famous Fighters' in the border, the Parents' Magazine seal and even the 69 cent price circle at the upper right. Normally this issue is only seen with a 79 cent price extension. This would be the late 1957/early '58 issue. This kit is one of a very successful line of 1/48 WWI aircraft that Aurora launched in 1956. The line sold so well that new kits were added into the 1960s. Molded in the correct gloss olive drab green and black. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions. Even includes the original factory tissue packing paper. Thanks to Eugene DuBey, we know some history on the aircraft that Aurora modeled. The tail # on the kit rudder is 1354, the number of a Nie 16 that served with CAM de Dunquerke / St Pol sur Mer", 1916-17.

Aurora Albatross D-3 - (Albatros D-III), 1/48, 104-79

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: NM+

$65

Rare kit in amazing, investment-grade 'Near Mint+' condition inside and out. Most likely the third issue of this kit and much harder to find than the first issue. Box is dated 1956 but this is from 1958 due to the sunburst oval 'Famous Fighters' logo, the silver factory-stamped out '69' price replaced with 79 and the Parents' Magazine seal at the lower left. Molded in gloss green and black. Never started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions. Even includes the original factory packing tissue.

First issue hardbox dated 1957 with great Jo Kotula artwork. Please note the 69 cent price extension and oval 'Famous Fighters' sunburst logo. This is part of a popular and very successful series of 1/48 scale WWI aircraft that Aurora started in 1956 and added to well into the 1960s. Many of the line were in production right up until the demise of Aurora in the mid 1970s Molded in correct high-gloss olive drab and black plastic. Never started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions. Even includes the factory tissue packing paper. Please NOTE: this kit displays slightly better than the 'Very Good' rating but is graded as such because there is a 1/2" x 1/4" tape tear on the lower long side.

Dated 1956 with Jim Cox box art. This model is in investment-grade 'Near Mint+' condition inside and out. Most likely the third issue and much rarer than the other releases. Note the 69 cent price extension, oval sunburst 'Famous Fighters' logo and the Parents' Magazine Seal; most likely dating this kit from 1958. Molded in a fantastic gloss metallic burgundy and black plastic. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. It even includes the original factory tissue packing paper.

The Ship Model Shop USS Arleigh Burke DDG51 Guided Missile Destroyer - 22 Inches Long, 1/250

Wood and Metal Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG

$275

Very rare, highly detailed and prefabricated model from Allen Baker's legendary Ship Model Shop. This was the last kit he issued, and there are two personally signed letters from Mr. Baker included with the kit. Very high quality kit features 90% factory finished hardwood hull, perfectly cut and crisp wood superstructure parts, a vast number of cast metal fittings, a large sheet of photoetched brass details, wood, plastic and metal stock as required, a beautiful set dry transfers designed by Mr. Baker and custom made by Chartpak. Paperwork includes instructions, plans, sales material, color photos and various photocopies of plans. Carefully inventoried against the included parts list and NOTE: missing (2) of (16) small bitts and the (4) flat Aegis Antenna Enclosures; very easily made by cutting them from sheet styrene. All original paperwork is included but please NOTE: Mr. Baker had difficulty in releasing this final kit. So the instructions are generic (from the FFG7 kits) and a set of assembled plans. He apologizes in the letter for the standard of documentation. I only recommend this model if you are comfortable building a ship from plans.
