1972 hardbox issue. Aurora greatly improved these molds for this release which makes it an excellent builder. Features 'good' cockpit detail, two Lewis machine guns, twin Liberty 12 engines, pilot, two gunners and 2 mechanic figures, painting guide, terrain display base and rigging guide. Never started. Inventoried and NOTE: missing flat clear upper windshield. This is very easy to make and I have included clear material for it. Aurora Boeing F4B-4 - (F4B4), 1/48, 122-69

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good+

$59

1958 first issue with fantastic Jo Kotula boxart. This is the Parents' Magazine issue with the seal located in the lower right and the '69' price circle at the upper left. This was considered a fine model in the day and rated highly in magazine reviews. These classic 1930s Navy Biplane Fighters are still famous for their colorful paint jobs at that that time. Never started and inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. Cowl, tail and trim color would vary with the group's Aircraft Carrier (Ranger, Lexington or Saratoga and the aircraft's position in the flight formation.

Aurora 155mm Long Tom Gun, 1/48, 308-98

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG+

$79

1963 hardbox issue with superb John Steel artwork. This was a very nice model for that time with numerous working features and crew. Molded in the correct gloss olive drab green and with black rubber tires. Never started and inventoried complete with all parts and includes instructions. Aurora did not provide decals with this kit.

Aurora US Army 8 Inch Howitzer Gun, 1/48, 307-98

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG++

$64

Second issue hardbox from 1963 of this rare kit with great John Steel artwork. This is a well detailed model for that time which features 96 pieces, moving wheels, breech, recoil mechanism, limber and gun trails. Molded in gloss olive drab green and with black rubber tires. NOTE: this kit has very minor and 'professional' quality subassembly to only two parts: the gun barrel halves. There is no other assembly and zero painting. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts and instructions. The box displays higher than the 'very good++' rating but it graded as such because there is scuffing on the four sides; the sides only rate 'good+.'

Aurora US Army 8 inch Howitzer, 1/48, 307-79

Aurora Albatross D-3 Red Dot Issue - (Albatros D.III / DIII), 1/48, 104-69

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good++

$48

Rare very early issue from 1956 with Northern Lights logo and the 69 cent price circle on the right of the box top. What is most unusual is that the price is within a red-filled circle; this is the second instance of this that I have seen in more than 26 years. Just when you think you have Aurora's kit history figured out, they throw you another curve ball! Molded in the correct glossy dark green and black. Decals and instructions are correct for the first issue as well. Never started and inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. Even includes the original factory tissue packing material.

Aurora Boeing P-26A Peashooter, 1/43, 115-98

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good

$44

Very rare 1957 issue with the original artwork and the then-new Sunburst Oval logo with 'Famous Fighters' in the border. This was a one-year only issue because in 1958 the new Jo Kotula artwork was introduced. The P-26A was originally issued shortly after Aurora moved to the West Hempstead facility on Long Island, NY. Molded in the correct glossy light blue and clear with the early style Aurora rectangular stand, correct Tatem Company decals and the correct instructions. Never started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions. The box has wear as shown and is only 'good.' Aurora was the only early US model company known for consistently turning a profit. They never wasted anything and that included instructions, stands and decals. If any were left, they were used (in the new style box, like in this case) until they were used up.

Aurora Curtiss Hawk P-6E, 1/43, 116-98

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good-

$42

First issue from 1956 that still has the 1954/55 early logo. This was a well-reviewed and fine kit for that time. It features moving ailerons, elevators and rudder, 'good' cockpit, pilot figure, clear windscreen, rotating wheels & propeller and more. Molded in the correct gloss dark green and clear & includes the correct large rectangle-based early Aurora stand. Never started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. Even includes the original factory tissue packing paper.

Aurora Fokker DR-1 Triplane, 1/48, 105-69

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG

$65

Very Rare variation from 1957. Just when you think you have seen it all, Aurora thrown in another issue. This is the first kit number 105-69 that I have seen with the original Jin Cox artwork, 1957 oval logo and NO price circle and NO Parents' Magazine seal. (usually it has one or the other or both) It was only issued one year or less like that, as in 58/59 it had the Parents' Seal on the left and or a price circle on the right. Molded in a fantastic gloss metallic burgundy and black plastic. Never started and inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. The decals and instructions are in amazing 'excellent+' condition and the kit even includes the original factory tissue packing paper. The box displays higher higher than the 'very good' rating but is graded as such because it has a thin 1" x .25" factory tape tear on the lower long side panel.

Aurora Grumman S2F Hunter Killer - Tracker, 1/111, 288-39

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good-

$36

Hardbox issue from 1964 and from quality ex-Comet molds. Features fine recessed surface detail, rotating propellers, clear windows and a display stand. Comet has two S2F models; this is the smaller of them. Never started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions.

Aurora TWO Sopwith Camel, 1/48, 102-100

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG

$42

SALE! This box includes two 1/48 scale Sopwith Camel kits. The first one is the Aurora issue; the second one is the greatly improved Monogram reissue of the Aurora kit. Both are never started and inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions present. The Aurora version naturally includes the 'chock' ground base, pilot and mechanic figure. This is part of the famous Aurora WWI series of 1/48 scale aircraft. The series began in 1956 and Aurora added new kits into the early 1960s. The line proved incredibly popular, so these kits were included in the 'mold upgrade' in the 1970s before Aurora went out of business and sold the molds to Monogram. Monogram only reissued the best Aurora kits; the Sopwith Camel met that criteria after some mold improvements were made.

Aurora Boeing P-12E, 1/48, 121-69

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good-

$39

This model was reviewed highly when released in magazines and features 'good' cockpit and engine detail, wing mounted bombs, clear windscreen, pilot figure, 'ground base' with chocks, mechanic figure and more. The decals are for the colorful box art aircraft. Molded in the correct gloss olive and clear plastic with the rectangle-based clear Aurora stand. Never started and inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions present.

Hasegawa Nakajima G8N1 N-40 Renzan Rita - First Logo Issue, 1/72, JS22

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG+

$74

First Hasegawa logo and 'KSS' logo - King Size Series. Probably the second issue of this large kit. Very nicely molded for the time in dark green and clear plastic. There are decals for Japanese and US evaluation aircraft. Never started and inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions.

Hawk Republic F-84F Thunderstreak, 1/72, 606-50

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Exc++

$34

Early 1960s release with classic box art by Bill Campbell. If you look closely, Bill painted one of Hawk's founders, Richard (Dick) Mates in the cockpit of the nearest fighter. This is a very nicely molded model with excellent fit and all recessed panel lines. The kit has never been started. Inventoried 100% complete including decals and instructions. Thanks to Jean-Claude who told me that the boxart shows a standard F-84F but in reality the model inside is of prototype YF-96A, (aka YF-84F), s/n 49-2430. this aircraft was later modified to become the YRF-84F parasite fighter in combination with GRB-36F.It is on display at the USAF Museum, Wright Patterson AFB, Ohio.
