Airfix Blackburn NA-39 Buccaneer - Type Two Issue, 1/72, 384

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Fair+

Sold

Late 1950s Type 2 box issue. Kit features opening unique rotating bomb bay, folding wings and working arresting hook. Never started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions. The Buccaneer was the world's first purpose designed low level 'below the radar' bomber. Low level strike aircraft have a shorter airframe life limit due to the stresses of low level flying, so the Buccaneer was designed to be very strong and even had many sub-assemblies milled from solid metal.

O-Lin (Olin) was founded by Paul Lindberg and a Mr. Olsen - hence the company name. Although a producer of flying models in the 1930s, O-line produced some of the earliest American injection molded kits in the late 1940s. In 1950 the partnership may have ended, because all branding was changed to Lindberg and Paul Lindberg. To learn more about the first American Plastic Kits, please see the article on this website. Thanks to Dusty Rhodes, here is some information on the real airplane from the box art of this kit: "F-86A-1-NA s/n 47-617: 1/18/1949 First flight. 1/1949: Used for cold weather tests in Alaska. 1949: USAF 3200th PTG.3/30/1949: Crashed near Whitehall, MT.

Aurora The Black Knight of Nurnberg, 1/8, 473

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Excellent

Aurora of Great Britain issue from the late 1960s. Classic and very popular Aurora knight kit from the original molds. Large 1/8 scale kit is molded gloss black and has white and yellow plumes. The kit has never been started. It is still sealed in the factory bag and includes the instructions. In the mid 1950s, Aurora bought three 'Knight' molds from Crown Plastics and issued them as K1, K2 and K3. These were the very first Aurora figure kits and they sported the 1956-only rectangular 'Northern Lights' logo with the correct 'Crown Line' logo inside it. The sales success of the Knight prompted Aurora to launch an entire line of figure kits. The knights themselves stayed in production in the USA and overseas long after many other figures were discontinued.

William H Low Co Holloway Hook And Ladder Truck 1880 - Wilo Line Fire Truck, 1/24, CL120

Multimedia Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good+

Sold

Very, very rare. Mr. Low himself proclaimed this to be "...the handsomest in the Willoline." Likely from the 1940s. William H Low Co., of Braintree Mass., issued the 'Wilo Line' which included a superb series of antique commercial firefighting equipment. The scale is given as 1/2" and the finished wagon is well over 12 inches long with the ladders, and even bigger with the 6" front carriage bar. The kits were very advanced for the time and shared many of the pre-fabrication methods of Hudson Miniatures. This kit is based on the 1880 Holloway Manufacturing Company prototype. Features plastic injection molded spoke wheels, precut large hardwood parts such as completed tanks, fully formed ladder frames, pre-cut ladder rungs, extinguishers and more, a sealed bag of smaller parts including a great many fully carved wood with more of metal and plastic, brass screen, a variety of metal stock as needed, sandpaper, complete instructions with detailed plans and full text step-by-step guide and even a big photo of the actual prototype. The kit has never been started. The small parts are either internal factory bag sealed or inventoried complete; the parts that were never sealed are inventoried complete including instructions/plans. The kits in this line include CH110 Combination Hose Wagon, FC15 Chemical and Reel Carts, F16 Horses in the same scale, CL120 Hook And Ladder, CL120 (again) City Service Ladder (a completely different kit from the previous one), FC180 Combination Chemical Wagon, FH130 Hose Wagon, FP7 Amoskeag Steamer, CR110 Service Hose Reel, FL10 Aerial Ladder, F18 Chemical Engine and more. In most cases they are the only kits in existence of these historic vehicles. Bill Low did design at least one 'non-fire truck' kit in his Will-O-Line - a Conestoga Wagon, advertised as being 1/24 scale, kit #B14 for $2.85 listed as "This is another Museum Piece by Bill Low." After seeing these fire truck kits, I do not doubt that.

Walthers 40' Steel Box Car - O Scale Craftsman Kit, 1/48, 3800

Large scale model features completely pre-shaped and cut wood, metal car ends, doors, bolsters and other cast fittings, a packed of ladders by the Hawk Model Company, original metal trucks and full instructions with plans in the form of a very official looking 'blue print.' Please NOTE this kit has minor assembly. The car ends, floor and roof have been very neatly assembled. There is no other assembly and zero painting. Missing (1) Walther's coupler; otherwise inventoried with all other parts and instructions. Please note that a strip labeled 'plastic' is cardboard, due to the war effort. The box is 100% complete but has significant wear and closed splits along the sides.

AMT 1952 Pontiac Four Door Sedan Key-Wind Motorized Promo, 1/25

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Poor+

Sold

Original motorized dealership model in very nice condition. It features a celluloid plastic body, cast metal front bumper and grill, cast metal rear bumper and even metal bright trim for the hood and trunk. It has a bare metal chassis, metal spring motor with the original key, metal axles and drive gear. The chassis is stamped "AMT" and the motor does work. The model is 100% complete. The body has very good color and gloss. This is a celluloid body and it does have some warping but 95% of it is down low near the rockers - and the box is flexible. So if you put a spacer in there, the rockers bend out almost perfectly. Mirrored windows are 'excellent' with minimal warp. The previous owner has the fine trim correctly painted silver to 'professional' standards - it could pass for factory paint but it is not. The box is not original.
