Kit features traditional wood/tissue construction, quality printwood, stripwood, wire shaft, fully formed and finished wood wheels and thrust button, clear canopy material, rubber, tissue, propeller and detailed full size plans with building instructions. The model has not been started. Inventoried 100% complete. Comet was a famous manufacturer of stick and tissue flying and static models. In the 1930s Great Depression, they lead the low-priced kit revolution with the "Dime Scale" kits and famous advertisements in Model Airplane News magazine and others. Comet reached it's peak in the 1930s when they acquired the services of Carl Goldberg. Goldberg was a highly accomplished modeler with articles in Model Airplane News and famous designs that won him several National level competitions in the 1930s and beyond. (Carl Goldberg went on to found his own company and produced well designed and popular free-flight and RC aircraft). Comet survived the post World War economic slump and continued kit production until they were bought out by long-time competitor Guillow's in 1998.

Likely the third issue of the only larger scale Auburn kit in injection molded plastic. The '35 Auburn weighed 4200 lbs. and was one of the few cars of that time to have hydraulic brakes. Power came from a 150hp (@4000) supercharged engine with three inch exhaust pipes that easily sped the car to over 100 mph. Ab Jenkins set a record with a stock issue 851 at Bonneville Salt Flats in July of 1935, and became the first one to pilot a stock car for over 12 hours at an average of over 100 mph. Molded in red and includes a fully positionable female driver molded in peach plastic. Features complete engine, hinging/opening hood and 'good' interior detail. Never started. Inventoried complete with all parts and instructions. This is a rather simple kit but I have seen it look excellent built up if you are willing to take the time to detail it.

Rare and large 1/16 scale museum quality kit. The four aircraft in this series (Wright Flyer, Fokker DR-1, Sopwith Camel and SE-5 Scout) are widely considered to be the finest model aircraft ever produced. This kit duplicates the world's first controllable powered aircraft using many of the original material in a near perfect representation of the inner structure of the aircraft. There are 303 parts made from die-cut plywood, Japanese cypress, cast soft metal, copper, rubber, brass, injection molded plastic and still other materials. Unlike the other three kits, this model can have the interior framework covered as the real aircraft or it can remain uncovered. Includes a Wright Brother pilot and display stand. The wingspan is 765mm (over 30 inches) when assembled. The engineering of the kit is world-class right down to the assembly plans. This kit has never been started. All parts are still in still in the factory sealed bags. This kit was packed very carefully from the factory and all special internal boxes and inserts are included and in mint condition. Complete with instructions and roll-out plans. Please note, this item must be shipped fully insured.

Very rare. Nicely molded high-definition resin kit with very good overall detail. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes instructions. Painting and insignia details are included. The Eland was the standard armoured car of the SADF and was originally developed as an improved Panhard. The Panhards were almost completely unsatisfactory; South Africa rebuilt them, gaining valuable experience along the way. When replacements were needed, they produced the local Eland series. This was one of the first all-South African manufacturing and design programs to be undertaken after WW2. Elads were superbly suited to the terrain and tactics of the SADF and proved their worth over and over in combat. Rhodesian operated them also.

I believe this is the 4th edition of this kit, and the first issue with this Jim Cox boxart. Most likely from 1955/56 with small 'Aurora Line' rectangular logo and 'Famous Fighters of All Nations.' Correctly molded in metallic burgundy and clear with the correct rectangular clear stand. For this issue the factory changed the swastikas on the tail to iron crosses and decals as well. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. The instructions are 'excellent +' condition with very little yellowing and just at touch of edge wear; the decals are a surprising 'very good++' with only a slight twist and yellowing. It is interesting that the Me-109 never carried the standard Aurora 'Northern Lights' logo for 1956.
