Very rare model. This one is in exceptional condition. The box has four solid corners, very good color and no tape or price tags; the only flaws are corner and edge wear and a light crease at the top right. Inside, the kit is like new. The white parts are still in the factory sealed bag; the clear and red-tint clear, real metal springs, chrome parts and rubber whitewall tires have been inventoried 100% complete including instructions. The decals and instructions are both in exceptional 'excellent' condition. This kit represents an actual car that was on national hot rod tours across the USA. It features a detailed Chevy 427 engine with an optional of dual 4 barrel carbs or fuel injection, detailed engine compartment with opening hood, complete front suspension with metal springs and steerable wheels, full rear suspension, complete interior, double bubble top that opens, rear spoiler design and more. ONE kit is never started and 100% complete - with high-quality balsa pre-cut stringers and spars, balsa printwood, detailed full size plans with building instructions, wheels, rubber motor, tissue, prop shaft and wooden thrust bearing and a big balsa pre-carved (but not finished) propeller. 1961 first issue of Aurora's 'Super Detailed Museum Model with Plated Parts.' Done in a big 1/16 scale, this kit and the other 'Old Timers' in the series represented a significant leap forward in quality for Aurora. It builds up a rolling chassis with transaxle, suspension, exhaust and driveline detail and includes a detailed interior with separately molded instruments. Molded in gloss yellow, dark wood tan and with plated parts and real rubber tires. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes instructions. Aurora was renowned for turning a profit and for keeping expenses down. In researching new kit subjects, they came upon a forgotten jewel - the Hudson Miniatures line of 1/16 scale wooden kits. Hudson had discontinued this line due to lack of sales of wooden kits. But the Hudson models were second to none in quality, research and documentation. Aurora was quick to realize this and used the research and layout from these kits to create the subjects for this 'Old Timers' series. It is fortunate for us that they did, because in most cases this is the only injection molded kit of these rare and classic early automobiles.

Still factory sealed. Dated 1965 and the one and only hardbox issue from the tie-in promotion with Twentieth Century Fox Televisions smash hit "12 O'Clock High". Some of the most valuable models are linked to TV or movie promotions and the "12 O'Clock High" series from Aurora is no exception. This example is in investment-grade 'Sealed Excellent++' condition. The only flaws are a seal split on the left short side and very slight fading on that panel. Other kits in this series included the B-17, P-51, Me-109 and FW-190.

1972 'Big A' issue. Still factory sealed and in investment-grade 'near mint' condition. This is a very nice kit from Aurora's later, improved efforts of the late 1960s/early 1970s. Aurora knew that the old 1950s molds were outclassed by the late 60s and cut a new series of molds including several ships, helos and subs. The result was high mold quality and very good details, as in this kit. Quality was so good that this was one of the few Aurora kits reissued by Monogram when the bought the Aurora molds.
