Very rare Revell Japan issue dated 1967. The hardbox is 'excellent' condition with wonderful color and gloss, four solid corners, no fading or tears and only light general wear. Like most Japan issues, this one has special features. First, there is a large, box-sized full color painting guide for Yellow 12. Second, there are decals and paid guide for the three aircraft listed (not just one like the USA issue). I have listed the squadrons and aircraft as clearly as my limited Japanese could allow; so my JG numbers may not be correct except for Molders, of course. Features fully detailed engine, removable panels, full cockpit, moving control surfaces, rotating wheels and props and retracting/extending landing gear. The kit has never been started. Rare original issue dated 1967. The original two 'mobiles were designed by Dan Jeffries, not George Barris. Both cars were used to promote the Monkees and the hit TV show. Features detailed 389 CID GTO engine with blower, molded underside with separate rear suspension and exhaust system, full custom interior, optional touring car convertible top, custom wheels and Monkees keychain. Molded in the correct dark gloss red, clear, chrome and with real rubber tires. The chrome is 'excellent++.' The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. Please NOTE that the decals are complete and intact but the background paper is stained and there are a few small parts lifting. I have put them in a zip lock to keep them intact. The very top of the box is actually 'excellent' but I have graded the overall box 'good++' because there are water stains on the box bottom (box tray).

Dated 1953 with a wonderful hardbox illustration. Kit also includes horses, dog and fireman and real chain. The kit has not been started. Inside, it is still in the factory cello seal. Marlin first cut the molds in 1952 and issued the six original American Firefighters (Chemical and Ladder, Steamer, Hook and Ladder, Water Tower, Aerial Ladder and Hose Reel) in 1952. Revell signed a marketing agreement with Marlin in 1953. Five of the kit were released with the Revell name and marketing name 'Collectors Kits, Closter N.J.' Revell added the horse parts as they were not originally part of the Marlin issues. The kits made excellent display pieces, but they never caught the imagination of young men like jet aircraft did. The five molds were shipped to Brazil. After run for Kikoler (Revell Brazil's Distributor), they were shipped back to the USA but the molds were lost at sea. This issue is from when Revell still had the marketing agreement, as it says 'Trade Mark Copyright 1953 Marlin Toy Co. Inc' on the box top and 'Collector's Kits, Inc, Closter, N.J.' on the side.
