Marx Chris Craft Constellation With Power Kit - 30 Inches Long, 1/20, 5707

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good+

$329

One of the finest motor yacht kits ever made. From the late 1950s. Features very good detail and 225 parts. Measures approximately 30" long, 10" high and 8 inches wide when assembled. Can be made for radio control or as a highly detailed static model. Molded with cast metal accessories, metal and brass hardware and classic 1950s turquoise, brown, white, clear and peach colored and chrome plated plastic. Includes the captain, deck chairs and the two 'Bathing Beauties'. Even rarer than the kit itself is the included 'Marx Chris Craft Twin Electric Motor Power Kit' which is mint in the box. Inside it has two 'Mighty Monty' electric motors, battery holder, motor holders, wiring, switches, full instruction sheet and more. Both the Power Kit and the model have been inventoried 100% complete with all parts. NOTE: the boat has very minor assembly: #1 small retainers, rudder post and prop shaft post have been installed to 'excellent' quality. There is no other assembly. One bathing beauty has her bathing suit painted red. There is no other painting. NOTE: The flat hull glass windows have glue marks and smears; I have included them but also included plenty of thick plastic clear stock. You can easily duplicate these windows as they are simply flat clear parts. Just cut then bigger than the hull window openings and glue to the inside. Shipping insurance is required for this kit.

Inventoried with all parts, decals and instructions present. Please NOTE: one part, a tiny antenna, is a different color plastic. It is from an earlier version of this same kit.

Maquette Handley Page Dart Herald Channel Express Airlines or BIA British Island Airways - (ex-Frog), 1/72, MQ-7221

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good-

$95

Hard-to-find and from original Frog molds. One of the very early British Prop-jet airliners, Heralds carried 56 passengers or 6.5 tons of freight at a range of 1000 miles and a cruising speed of 275 mph. Kit features separately molded rudder, ailerons and elevators, two position passenger and cargo doors, rotating props and wheels, seated and standing pilots. Includes two very colorful decal sheet and painting guide for both aircraft. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried and NOTE: missing one small part, a nose gear door. This part can be made from sheet plastic or cardstock. Includes all other parts, and decals and instructions. I did not see the boarding stairs with this kit, but they are not shown on the instructions. They were with the original Frog kit, but it appears they were not with this much later Russian issue.

Athearn Rock Island Passenger F-7A and F-7B Locomotives Genesis - HO Scale, 1/87, G1507

Metal and Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Exc++

$125

Superbly detailed Genesis issue powered A and B locomotives. Judging from the very slight wheel wear, these were run perhaps three or four times BUT they were stored for a time 'on the track' or on a shelf (not in the factory boxes). As a result, the undersides are like new but the tops are dusty. They are 100% complete but both horns are broken off the "A" unit. The horns are present so you can repair them. Includes all three factory boxes (a box for each locomotive and the external sleeve for both those boxes), all the original factory dark gray foam packing material as well as (2) "F Series Diesel Locomotive Owners Guide" with an exploded diagrams on the back. I have no way to test these locomotives so they are sold as-is.

Athearn Rock Island F-7A and F-7B Freight Locomotives Genesis DCC Quick Plug Equipped - HO Scale, 1/87, G22084

Metal and Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: NM

$145

Superbly detailed Genesis issue powered A and B locomotives in excellent condition. Judging from the very slight wheel wear, these were run perhaps once or twice. There are no broken parts and each engine is 100% complete. I hesitate to call anything mint, so I will grade them both as 'near mint' condition. Not perfect, but close. Includes all three factory boxes (a box for each locomotive and the external sleeve for both those boxes), all the original factory plastic and dark gray foam packing and the following paperwork: (2) "FlyWheel Drive F-Unit" exploded diagrams and parts sheet and (2) "Athearn News" sign up sheets. I have no way to test these locomotives so they are sold as-is.

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good++

$29

1950s hard-to-find 'Picture Gallery' hardbox issue with unique artwork. Bill Campbell told me that he replaced this artist 'in an emergency' and that is how he got the job to do the Hawk box art for so many years. Very nicely molded in silver plastic with a clear green-tinted windshield and instructions and decals that are correct for this early release. Never started. Inventoried 100% complete including decals and instructions. Box displays very nice but has some bug damage to the litho on the sides.

Hudson Miniatures 1913 Mercer Raceabout Lil' Old Timers 'Quickie Kit', 1/32

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG

$42

Rare. When the Gowland/Revell 'Highway Pioneers' burst upon the hobby scene in 1951, they started a hobby revolution. Plastic model kits were not new in 1951, but successful mass marketing of plastic kits was new. The sensation swept the country, and Gowland & Revell could not make the kits fast enough. The fact that the public was buying these models shocked the successful hobby establishment. One such manufacture was Hudson Miniatures. In the 1940s, Hudson had established a name in making 1/16 scale 'Old Timer' models of automobiles. These were excellent kits with wood and metal parts, but a high degree of skill was required to carve and finish the wood parts. In the late 1940s, they added some injection molded plastic parts (usually acetate wheels) to the series but did not consider a completely plastic kit. When Hudson saw what was happening with the Highway Pioneers, he began to design his own 1/32 scale line called 'Lil Old Timers', which hit the stores in 1954. An early paper fold-out catalog shows 18 models including some real gems like the 1910 International Harvester Passenger Car, 1911 Brush Delivery Truck and 1906 Columbia Electric Car just to name a few. The line was bought by Revell a short time after it's release, and Revell did reissue some (but not all) of the kits. As you would expect from Hudson, this is a nice kit with excellent moldings and detail for the time. The kit has never been started. Inventoried 100% complete including instructions. The Mercer was perhaps the most famous sports car of it's day, and it can be successfully argued that it was America's first sports car. The 30 horsepower 'T' head 4 cylinder engine sped it along at over 80 miles per hour. A 1914 Mercer clocked 112 mph at Daytona Beach - no mean feat for that age.
