Hasegawa Messerschmitt Bf-109 F-4 - (Bf109F4), 1/48, JT27

Monogram Boeing 727 TWA - (ex Aurora), 1/96, 5414

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good-

Sold

1978 issue after Monogram bought and modified the Aurora molds. Monogram only reissued the best and most commercially viable models. In this case, they saw the molds could be improved, and the result is a much better and accurate kit, the best 'short' body 727 available in near 1/100 scale. Monogram added a network of very fine raised panel lines to the fuselage (the original had no panel lines), filled the deep e-doors over the wings and made them fine raised also, added wing fences and fine raised panel lines to the wings, added flap hinges to the wing undersides and added fine raised panel lines to the horizontal stabilizers. Monogram was evidently proud of the improvement, and even shows them on the assembly drawings. With full landing gear. Contains excellent TWA full stripes and window decals. This kit has not been started. The parts are still in the factory sealed bag. Includes decals and instructions.

Nichimo IJN Hiryu Aircraft Carrier - Motorized, 1/500, U-5019

Features one piece hull, detailed island structure, well detailed deck with molded in planking detail, AA batteries, lifeboats, four scale props and rudder for static display, Val dive bombers with separately molded landing gear and bombs, Kates with separately molded torpedo and Zeros with separate drop tanks, very large decal sheet with full deck markings and air group decals, display stand with brass plated pedestals and more. The kit has never been started. Internal factory sealed bags including decals and instructions.

Monogram Curtiss P-36A Hawk (Model 75) - Bagged, 1/72, 5014

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: No Box

Sold

Bagged kit - there is no box. The box is shown for reference only. 1979 issue and a very finely molded and detailed kit in the traditional Monogram style. Never started. The aircraft has been inventoried with all parts, decals and instructions present. NOTE: missing display stand. The Hawk P-36A has the dubious distinction of fighting on both sides and for more countries than any other plane in history during the opening years of WWII. This Hawk, one in a long progression of famous fighter aircraft, was the winner of a 1935 competition. The USAA Corps received the first aircraft in April of 1938 and the French ordered 100 aircraft in May of the same year. French Hawks shot down just over 30 German planes during the battle for France. The Germans captured the aircraft and sold them to Finland. Others were captured when the Germans overran Norway. In all over 800 Hawks were produced and served in China, Netherlands East Indies, Portugal, Great Britain, Thailand, Argentina and Peru. Although an excellent fighter in 1935, the Hawk was outclassed by the time the war started but when flown properly still gave a good account of itself.

Frog Dornier Do-17 Z-2 - Finnish or German Markings - Orange Series, 1/72, F205

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG+

Sold

Builds a rare Finnish Air Force variant from PLeLv 46 (1943) or German 1 Gruppe KG3, France (1940). Very nice kit done to high Frog standards. Can be build to a very realistic model as there are no rivets and only very fine panel lines. The kit has never been started. The actual aircraft has been inventoried complete including decals and instructions. NOTE: missing display stand. Frog is considered the father of injection molded model kits. The Lines Brothers opened Frog in 1932, capitalizing on the fever caused by Lindberg's solo transatlantic flight. Almost overnight the western populations became 'Air-Minded', and anything aviation was in high demand. Frog created a quality line of stick and tissue rubber powered aircraft and gliders as well as innovative ready-to-fly rubber powered aircraft that required no assembly. The box even contained a built-in rubber motor winder and fuselage holder. Model airplane flight competitions were popular in Great Britain, and one category was 'Rise Off the Ground', or ROG. By changing this to 'Flies Right Off the Ground', the FROG name was born. In 1936 Frog created a line of injection molded plastic models, the first such kit line in the world (Hawk sold a line of injection molded aircraft models in 1934 but they were factory assembled and painted). Named 'Penguin' after the bird that does not fly, the kits were innovative beyond the means of production. At a time when models were simply built by wingspan, the Penguin line was a constant 1/72 scale. Furthermore, a large 1/72 Short S.30 Empire class flying boat contained a full interior and lights! A line of accessories such as AA guns, tractors, hanger, ambulance, sound locator, searchlights and lighting kits were quickly added to the line. WWII caused a pause in production. After the war the box color changed from silver to green, and Penguin kits were also marketed in the USA. Production ended in 1950. Frog quickly expanded and released the Red, Blue, Orange, Black, Green, Gold Token, Spin and Comet series as well as Trail Blazers and several others. It is noteworthy that while most manufacturers in the 1940s/50 were making toy-like models, Frog attempted to make very realistic models. For example, 'detailing' kits with excessively large rivets was once very popular. Frog ignored this trend and continued to mold aircraft with fine panel lines and no rivets. As a result, Frog kits can be built into very realistic replicas. Production ended in the late 1970s, but Frog molds are still in use around the world.

Hasegawa F-16A Fighting Falcon / Heller F-84G Thunderjet / Matchbox Gnat Mk.1 Trainer / TWO Matchbox A-7D Corsair II, 1/72

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good+ to Exc

Sold

SALE!! Includes all 5 kits in the boxes shown. NOTE: Sold AS-IS and not inventoried. This collector was very meticulous and of his kit that I did inventory, 95% are complete. But on these kits he cut the sprue (trees) with the part numbers still attached to each number, so the parts are loose. Because of that, I have not inventoried these kits. NOTE: he built minor sub assemblies (cockpit tubs, wing halves, etc) to "professional" quality. He also almost always removed the displays stands (if provided). Again, these kits are sold not inventoried and AS IS hence the very low price.
