One in series of many small scale ship kits that Pyro made in the late 1950s/60s. Measures about 5-6 inches long when assembled. Well detailed for the size with fine molded detail, separately molded cannons, anchors, masts, crow's nest and a full set billowing sails and flags printed on the instructions. On November 15, 1577, Sir Francis Drake sailed from Plymouth, England in the 'Golden Hind,' accompanied by four smaller vessels. At the time, the great nations of Europe were squabbling for a share of the treasures to be found in the New World. Because Drake intended to visit land already claimed by Spain and Portugal, he was reported to be on a long voyage of discovery. The voyage lasted almost three years and his small ship completely circled the globe before returning to England. When she returned, the 'Golden Hind' was loaded with ingot and jewels plundered from the rich Spanish settlements along the West coast of South America.

Sterling Zero A6M3 Model 32 Hamp Drops Belly Tank In Flight - 24 Inch Wingspan for Free Flight or R/C, A15

Wood Model Kit,   Box Condition: Fair+

Sold

24 inch wingspan kit for RC, free flight or control line. Includes innovative system for automatically dropping the centerline belly tank in flight, color decals in amazing 'near mint' condition, high-grade die-cut balsa, vacuform plastic detail parts, clear vacuform canopy (that is in mint condition and not yellowed), plastic wheels, finished wire landing gear, rubber motor, plastic propeller and more. The kit has never been started. The small parts are still sealed in the original Sterling bag; all other balsa, plastic and metal parts with tissue and decals is present but NOTE: missing full size plans. These plans are available on line and if you cannot find them, I can provide the purchaser with a link. Sterling was a famous manufacturer dating back to the 1930/40s flying model craze. Although they continued to produce kits for decades after the flying model slump following World War II, they eventually fell victim to the general lack of interest in modeling that occurred in the early 1980s. I always considered Sterling kits to be deluxe kits as they included the action features and were much easier to build than other makes.
