Scale Flight Comet's Corben Super Ace - 16 inch Wingspan Dime Scale Flying Airplane, Dime

Wood Model Kit,   Box Condition: NM

$18

Scale Flight Model Company in Bloomington, Indiana, USA was dedicated to releasing authentic reproductions of the finest "Dime Scale" flying model (stick and tissue) kits from the 1930s/40s. Dime Scale models used to sell for a dime in the 1930's, hence the name. They are actually box scale, but as a general guideline, they usually had a wingspan of 16 inches and have simple and light construction. "Dime Scale" models are now a class flown in some competitions. Kit consists of contest grade printwood, contest quality strip wood, machine cut balsa propeller, the best Japanese tissue, wooden wheels, competition bushed nose plug, brass thrust washers, prop shaft, prop freewheeler, FAI rubber strip motor and a copy of a genuine dime scale plan that was used in the 1930s-1940s. Pyro USS Massachusetts Battleship - Table Top Navy, 1/1200, C395-50

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG

$27

Small scale ship kit from the Table Top Navy series. Very nicely done kits for their time. Can be built full hull or waterline. Features propeller and shaft detail, separately molded turrets, stacks, many superstructure parts and more. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and instructions. Many of the Pyro kits came from Eagle (then Eaglewall) molds in England. Eaglewall went out of business around 1962 and Pyro acquired at least some of the molds. Pyro reissued some of these kits in the mid 1960s with AJ Rudisill artwork. Evidently the line was successful, as Pyro then cut some of their own molds and expanded the series significantly. The earlier issues have the full color artwork and a three digit part number. Later issues have a 'B' or 'C' in front of the three digit kit number; some have simplified box art that is a modification of the original Rudisill paintings by painting out most of the background. Pyro issued these kits into the late 1960 when Life-Like took over the molds. Some were reissued by Life-Like.

Revell Avro Dam Buster Lancaster, 1/72, H202

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Exc+

$42

Revell of Germany issue with full English and German instruction sheets. This kit was sold new at the RAF Museum Hendon and still retains the price tag from there. With 'Secret bomb'. 1960s issue issue. Features specially modified Lancaster fuselage with Dam Buster bomb and release mechanism. Landing gear retracts, props and wheels turns and control surfaces move. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. The Dam Busters squadron was famous for its daring raids on three German dams on May 16, 1943. Carrying the special Barns Wallis-designed bombs, the Lancasters flew very low over the water in the face of heavy flak to drop the rotating bombs perfectly. Many did not return. The bombs did perform as promised, first skipping over the water, hitting the dam, then rolling down 30 feet before exploding with tremendous force. In an airburst, these bombs would not have damaged the dams, but since water is incompressible, the dams were breached.
