Still factory sealed and dates from the mid 1970s. This kit is from quality Airfix molds and is from the MPC 'Air Combat Collection', which includes ground crew. Note that this issue does not have 'Craft Master' under the MPC logo. Before this, MPC was marketing Airfix kits under the Craftmaster name in the USA. This continued for several issues and was finally discontinued (possibly with this issue) although MPC continued to distribute Airfix models.

1966 hardbox issue that is from the exact same molds as the USS Randall 1950s 'S' kit. This is a highly detailed and excellent kit for that time. It features a full, one-piece hull, detailed deck & superstructure, life rafts, deck guns, all masts and booms, a complete complement of 22 barges and landing craft and more. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. The USS Montrose was on of 57 Haskell Class Attack Transports built for service in and immediately after WWII. The ships were designed to carry troops close to the beachheads, transfer them to landing barges (carried on board) and to supervise the landing operations. Her length was 455 feet and she could handle 1,560 troops and carry 3000 tons of equipment.

1960s Revell of Great Britain issue with unique box art. There are two GB issues and this is the one with the slightly larger box. The model features very good engine detail, pilot and basic cockpit, rotating propeller & wheels and more. As with most GB issues, the decal sheet is improved and includes full-horizontal and vertical stabilizer size white & red markings with leading edge black scallops, all white and blue cowling stripes, white and blue side fuselage stripes, white and black headrest markings, squadron markings and national insignia / US Army text and aircraft number. 2008 reissue from the original molds. Full hull model that is 9 inches long with torpedoes, 20mm and 50 caliber guns and 3 crew figures. Never started and inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. And thank you for the following data from Jim Pearsall IPMS 2209 and Steve Payne IPMS 47035: PT boats were not commissioned individually, but were commissioned in squadrons of 12 to 16 boats. Squadrons generally had all the same type boat. PT-212 was assigned to MTBRON 15, which was commissioned in January 1943 and included PTs 201 through 218 and sent to the Mediterranean with these 78-foot Higgens boats. MTBRON 15 was active in Africa, Sicily, Capri and Italy. The RON was decommissioned in October of 1944. To place this in historical perspective, this period of WW II in the Mediterranean included the invasions of Sicily, Italy, Anzio and the South of France.
