Dramatic Ray Gaedke artwork. Rare early issue. The Convair VTO was a Navy program for a high performance zero-length take off fighter. The aircraft flew well but transition from vertical/horizontal and back was tricky. This, combined with the performance of the new jets signaled the end of the program in 1955. Comes with boarding ladder. Never started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions.

Solido Nord Griffon II, 1/54

Very rare kit of the unusual Mach 2+ ramjet/turbojet design. Solido produced a small line of plastic kits in the early 1960s but by 1967 all production ended. Very cleanly molded and large kit in sliver, black, clear and red plastic. Original tube of Monavac cement is still included and is still good! Decals and instructions are excellent. Kit has never been started and is 100% complete. The Griffon was dual propulsion like the Leduc 022; a turbojet was used for takeoff and got the airplane to speed, where the ramjet took over. The Griffon performed well, reaching a top speed of Mach 2.19 in 1958. However, there were difficulties with the ramjet design. The program was cancelled in favor of the Mirage family of fighters by Dassault.

Changes from stock include Cadillac engine, 6 carburetors, fenders, running boards, top, bed cover and hood. Extra display items feature surf board, skin diving air tank, swim fins, mask, harpoon, etc. Kit has never been started and is inventoried 100% complete. Molded in gloss medium blue, white and clear. With rubber tires, large tree of chrome part and custom decals.

1930/40s kit from the famous Ideal Aeroplane & Supply Company, which was founded in 1911. Wooden precarved hull with wooden parts and metal fittings. With highly detailed plans. This kit represents a very early PT boat designed by Hubert Scott Paine with three 1350 HP engines and four torpedos. Never started and 100% complete. The insides are absolutely mint and untouched; I was the first person to remove the parts for an inventory and repacked it exactly as it came. Measures 12-1/2 inches LOA when assembled.

The Joe Ott desinged 'Bilt-A-Set' series was the height of the classic stick and tissue flying model kits- not just for the box art, but also for the contents. The large wingpspan kits were the top of the Joe Ott line and had a price tag to match. They were out of reach of most children in the 1940s. Fewer were produced, which makes them harder to find today. In a time when most kits came only with white tissue, printed wood and plans, the Bilt-A-Set line box came chock full of parts and features like Assembly Line jigs for straight fuselage and nacelles, Speedlok Clamps, Die cut plywood or balsa parts sheet, die cut cardstock sheets, colored tissue, color printed national markings, clear window material, fully illustrated instructions and more. This kit has never been started. Parts are still all in the sheets; none have been punched out. 100% complete - all sheets and accessories present.
