1994 reissue from the original 1950s "S" kit molds. Very well detailed for that time with 83 parts. Features one piece hull, detailed deck and superstructure, 12.5cm cannon, 20mm twin anti-aircraft guns, life rafts, detailed masts, cargo booms, 15 very nicely molded landing craft, flag sheet and decals for the Montrose, Randall and full markings for the landing craft. Never started. Inventoried with all parts, decals and instructions present. The USS Montrose was on of 57 Haskell Class Attack Transports built for service in and immediately after WWII. The ships were designed to carry troops close to the beachheads, transfer them to landing barges (carried on board) and to supervise the landing operations. Her length was 455 feet and she could handle 1,560 troops and carry 3000 tons of equipment.

Rare 1960 issue of this original 'S' action kit. The box is in very rare 'Near Mint' condition and is the finest I have seen. The color and gloss are like new, all four corners are solid, there is no tape or tags or marks from either and zero fading. The only flaws are very, very light general wear. This edition is the '50 Years of Naval Aviation' issue and has the slightly textured box with the framable John Steel box artwork. Features a host of operating features- wings fold, dive brakes operate, canopy slides to show detailed cockpit, landing gear retracts and cowling comes off to show fully detailed engine. Molded in the correct dark gloss blue and clear. Never started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions. Collectors stamp is included but has a crease. There are also two trading cards, one for the P6M Seamaster and the USS Franklin D. Roosevelt.

Features steering front wheels, full rolling chassis with engine, exhaust, suspension and driveline just like the real car, removable hood, complete interior, aft trunk (luggage) and more. There is no assembly and the kit is 100% complete, but NOTE: the first owner carefully removed all of the flash from this kit and did so to 'excellent quality. As you may know, this is a very large amount of work! He also primed the metal parts and primed many plastic parts gray.
