Still factory sealed. Dated 1967 and the 3rd issue of the classic 'Four Star' Kit. Features retracting landing gear, rotating wheels/props, three man crew, optional position door and two survivors in life rafts. The Albatross was the primary sea rescue aircraft of the Aerospace Rescue and Recovery Service, a branch of MAC - Military Airlift Command. Operational service began in 1947 and Hu-16s saw wartime action in Vietnam.

2nd issue of this kit with the 'Blue Box' dated 1967. Very highly detailed. The kit has many action features: When you pull the prop outward and rotate it CCW, the landing gear retracts. Pull it outward and rotate it CW, and the gear extends. Push the prop in, and it freewheels as normal. Kit features a movable control surfaces, highly detailed cockpit, full decals, sliding canopy and instructions for rigging. Never started. Inventoried and NOTE: missing one tiny, easy to make part: (1) #6. This is a very small round part with a hole in the middle. Otherwise complete with all other parts, decals and instructions present.

This is one of two 'Blue Box' box art variations that share this part number. Well detailed very finely molded featuring good basic cockpit, pilot figure, optional regular or Malcolm Hood canopy, swiveling tail wheel strut, rotating wheels & propeller, drop tanks and bombs and more. Includes a display stand. With decals for the famous 'OlE-II.'

Mattel Logo and SkyStick issue dated 1968; please note this is the last Monogram Blue-Box issue of this model to have a price suffix on the part number. Well molded and detailed model for that time featuring detailed cockpit and gear wells and choice of two canopies. The decals are for Col. Howard, who was awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor. He was an AVG pilot and became the first US pilot to become an ace in both the Pacific and European theaters. His aircraft 'Ding Hao' means 'OK!' in Chinese.

These kits came from the collection of one of Monogram's finest and talented Chief Designers, the man who created the original B-52 kit, B-17, B-24J, P-36A, P-39 Airacobra, P-61 Black Widow, DH Mosquito, at least one if not all of the 1/8 scale Ford cars, A-1E Skyraider and numerous other famous kits. First issue from 1968 is very well molded featuring cockpit detail, crew of two, two anti-tank cannon, 4-section windshield and more. Never started and inventoried with all plastic parts present and 'near mint++' condition instructions. NOTE: missing decals.

Kit #2 is the same as kit #1 but NOTE: missing decals as well as the display stand. Well detailed with optional position landing gear, good cockpit with crew members, rotating propellers & wheels and more. Includes one decal sheet for KG53 Legion Condor, 7th Staffel or KG2, 7th Staffel. Both groups operated on the Russian Front in 1942.

1967 issue that is harder to find than even the 'Four Star' early issue. This kit is from the original molds and features rotating propellers, side gun packs and cannon/machine gun nose, crew members, underwing rockets and boarding ladder. Molded in gloss silver and clear and still has the "Sh-Boom" early issue style decals. Never started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions. NOTE: the instructions are from the first issue of this kit and are only 'good'. The decals are flat and correct for this issue but have significant lifting.

NOTE: as is typical with this model, one of the end 'round cages' has two broken rods; however, the two broken parts are present so they can be repaired.

Never started. Inventoried with all parts, decals and instructions present. NOTE: decals are complete and intact, but several are starting to lift and some age the usual age micro-cracking. If you are building this model, be prepared to supply your own decals.

This release has the very desirable and superb diorama instructions showing you how to make a ditched TBD at the Battle of Midway in WWII. This is a very highly detailed kit with complete interior, folding wings, elevating and rotating tail gun, working propeller and arresting gear, optional position gun compartment doors & canopy, optional parts for bomber or torpedo versions and more. Includes markings for three aircraft including the yellow-winged pre war versions and Torpedo 8 from the Battle of Midway.

The 'H' variant depicted here had extra armor plates hung loosely from the sides to pre-detonate hollow charge projectiles. The kit can be built with or without this additional armor. Features rotating turret and elevating gun, detailed moving flexible treads, spring action bogeys, opening Cupola lid, extra hull-mounted spare tread links, jerry cans, two crew figures and more. Never started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. Please note that one small decal is cut from the sheet but it is present. I have placed it in a small ziplock bag for safety.
