Original issue from 1973. When Aurora's demise seemed sure, a group of Aurora employees split and founded Addar. The Planet of the Apes kits gave them some early traction in the market. However, they were out of business by 1976. Never started and inventoried complete with all parts and includes instructions.

NOTE: the kit inside is from 1992; the box is from the 1960s issue with fantastic art work. The Bloodhound was an early Mach 2 surface to air missile that defended Great Britain. The range was about 60 miles. The Bloodhound was launched with four solid rocket boosters. Once these burned out and fell away, the main ramjet took over and the missile road a radar beam to the illuminated target. This is a detailed and well molded kit for that time and includes one Bloodhound missile, working launcher assembly and transport trailer. NOTE: this kit has some 'excellent' quality subassembly as noted: jeep body shell built; launcher side panels to base; launcher "A" frame built (3 pieces). There is no other assembly. Inventoried complete with all parts and instructions present.

Very rare 2nd 'Crown' issue. This issue is dated 1956, but is from 1957 judging from the new 'Famous Fighters' oval logo and the fact that 'CROWN' is moved up to the top, just below 'Aurora.' Inside, the kit is also correct for the second issue. The instructions still say 'Copyright 1956 Crow Plastics, Inc Princeton, New Jersey' and the oval 'Famous Fighters' logo from the box top is on the instructions as well. Molded in a beautiful gloss silver and with a feather plume. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes instructions. In the mid 1950s, Crown Plastics advertised the release of a series of Knight models - some of the very first figure kits. However, before Crown entered production, Aurora marketed the line for Crown in 1956- the first issue of this kit (this is the second issue). The first issue had a copyright on the instructions as 'Crown Plastics, Inc Princeton, New Jersey'. These were the first Aurora Knights ever issued and Aurora gave them the kit numbers K1-98, K2-98 and K3-98. These were the very first Aurora figure kits. The knights sold well, and Aurora bought the three 'Knight' molds from Crown Plastics within the year. The first issue had the early Aurora 'Northern Lights' rectangular logo has the correct 'Crown Line' logo inside it.

1970s 'Bonus' issue from Airfix molds that includes four thin, clear plastic 'in flight' propeller discs and stock as well as wild custom decals. Well detailed model features elevating guns and rotating turrets, movable control surfaces, retracting landing gear, rotating props and optional position crew entry door and ladder. The kit has never been started. The aircraft has been inventoried complete but NOTE: missing dispaly stand. Otherwise complete with all other parts. Includes decals and instructions; the decals are in amazing 'near mint+' condition, which is very rare for any 1970s MPC decals. The markings are for the 392nd ship that was lost in action over Germany on April 11, 1944.

Original issue from 1974. When Aurora's demise seemed sure, a group of Aurora employees split and founded Addar. The Planet of the Apes kits gave them some early traction in the market. However, they were out of business by 1976. The model has never been started. NOTE: missing instructions so I cannot inventory the kit. Here is what is present: Caesar the Ape is complete with all parts; the hut behind him contains the floor, both wall surfaces, the edge of the 'roof' shown at the top of the illustration, the three-pole 'railing' Caesar is hanging on to, the ladder that goes to the right off the floor, one support beam and the three piece tree. It makes a nice model but is obviously missing the base and accessories for starters.
