Lindberg Nautilus Atomic Submarine, 1/300, 70884

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Sealed NM

Sold

Still factory sealed. Crafthouse reissue, from original molds. The model is an interesting work of fact and fiction - it includes a deck gun and what looks like a Regulus II missile for the deck! The scale is about 1/300 and it measures about 12 inches long when assembled. This kit has a fascinating history. In the 1930s, Paul Lindberg was designing, building and flying stick and tissue aircraft like so many other men and boys of the time. His plans appear in Popular Aviation magazine and he made a good name for himself. When injection molding showed the way to increased kits sales in the late 1940s/early 1950s, he quickly teamed up with Mr. Olsen to create 'O-lin' models. Ray Gaedke was one the early artists for O-lin. In the early 1950s Paul Lindberg had control and had his name as the logo. The first logo is the one on this kit - 'Lindberg' in script with 'Products' arched across the top and 'Incorporated' arched across the bottom to create a broken circle around the script. Ray Gaedke continued his bold and colorful artwork for Lindbergs first Nautilus issue. The Nautilus appears to be the first sea vessel that Lindberg cut their own molds for - the Chris Craft Express Cruiser, PT Boat, LST and Fleet Submarine (Ex-Varney) were done by O-lin.

Frog TWO Fairy Swordfish / TWO Hawker Hurricane IIC / TWO Spitfire Mk.8/9, 1/72, F258

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Reboxed to VG

Sold

SALE!! Includes all 6 kits in the three boxes shown. NOTE: Sold AS-IS and not inventoried. This collector was very meticulous and of his kits that I did inventory, 95% are complete. But on these kits he cut the sprue (trees) with the part numbers still attached to each number, so the parts are loose. Because of that, I have not inventoried these kits. NOTE: he built minor sub assemblies (cockpit tubs, wing halves, etc) to 'professional' quality. He also almost always removed the displays stands. Again, these kits are sold not inventoried and AS IS hence the very low price. Please note that the Hurricanes were originally bagged, he re-boxed them into Frog 'Red Series' boxes from other kits and pasted the header to the box top.
