Wood Model Kit,   Box Condition: Sealed Mint

Sold

Still factory sealed and in amazing investment-grade condition. Big scale kit with a 31 3/8 inch wingspan. Designed for RC, CO2, free flight, control line or non-flying detailed scale kit. Sterling was a famous manufacturer dating back to the 1930/40s flying model craze. Although they continued to produce kits for decades after the flying model slump following World War II, they eventually fell victim to the general lack of interest in modeling that occurred in the early 1980s.

ZTS THREE Il-2 / Il-2M3 And TWO Lotina Spitfire IX UTI, 1/72, S-03

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG++

Sold

SALE!! Includes all five model kits. One Lotina Spitfire IX UTI kit is factory sealed. The other one is open but has never been started and is complete with all parts, decals and instructions. The IL-2 models have NOT been inventoried and are sold as is - they are from a very picky modeler who most parts off the trees. Of his kits that I did inventory, over 95% were 100% complete. But since these parts are all loose and there is very minor, "professional" quality assembly (like to the cockpit tub), I did not inventory them and am selling them AS-IS, hence the low price. The ZTS IL-2 is a nicely molded older kit with very fine raised panel lines, cockpit detail and parts for either version. Includes decals and paint guide for 5 aircraft- Polish Air Force and 4 Soviet Air Force machines.

The few larger parts that were not factory sealed have been inventoried complete including decals and instructions. The carnage of the Civil War made transporting the wounded from the battle grounds a matter of life or death. The ambulance wagon designed by Brigadier General D.H. Rucker proved to be the most valuable innovation. Used during the later half of the war, it was able to carry patients in seated or prone positions. The ambulance body rested on platform springs designed to reduce both for and aft and side to side jostling. The suspension also included a horizontal draught spring under the fifth wheel to reduce the sudden lurch of the wagon when the team started to pull it.

Monogram Curtiss P-36A - Blue Box Issue, 1/72, 6790

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good+

Sold

Dated 1967. Finely molded with the excellent detail and fit that Monogram was famous for. Never started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. The Hawk P-36A has the dubious distinction of fighting on both sides and for more countries than any other plane in history during the opening years of WWII. This Hawk, one in a long progression of famous fighter aircraft, was the winner of a 1935 competition. The USAA Corps received the first aircraft in April of 1938 and the French ordered 100 aircraft in May of the same year. French Hawks shot down just over 30 German planes during the battle for France. The Germans captured the aircraft and sold them to Finland. Others were captured when the Germans overran Norway. In all over 800 Hawks were produced and served in China, Netherlands East Indies, Portugal, Great Britain, Thailand, Argentina and Peru. Although an excellent fighter in 1935, the Hawk was outclassed by the time the war started but when flown properly still gave a good account of itself.

Monogram F-51D Mustang Action Model - White Box Issue (P-51), 1/32, 6847

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG+

Sold

1973 issue of this classic large-scale 'Action Model' from the original Four Star Monogram line. Has great detail for that time and many great features: canopy opens and closes to show highly detailed cockpit, prop and wheels turn, tiny levers under the wings drop 2 bombs and a small knob on the bottom rotates and extends/retracts main gear and tailwheel; all gear doors including the tailwheel open and close automatically with the gear. Not only do these features sound great, but they work. My built kit is 30 years old and functions like new! Molded in clear, silver and black. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. NOTE: I would grade the decals only 'good+'. They are flat, not peeling and 100% intact but they have light staining to the backing paper only (not to the actual transfers).
