Airfix Great Western Atlantic Ocean Liner, 1/180, 08252

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Sealed Good++

Sold

Still factory sealed. The 1987 issue from the original 1960s molds. Well detailed, full hull model with 200 pieces. The Great Western was the first ship specifically built for the Atlantic Ferry Service and was designed by I.K. Brunel (who designed the Great Eastern). When launched in 1837, she carried 120 first class, 20 second class, and beds could be set up for an additional 100 if needed. The crew was 60 men. The first crossing of the Atlantic Ocean was in April of 1838 and took just over 15 days. After crossing the Atlantic 64 times, she ran for 10 years between Southampton and the West Indies before being broken up in 1857.

Pyro 1911 Stevens-Duryea Tourer - Vintage Brass Car Series, 1/32, C453-100

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Sealed NM

Sold

Still factory sealed. 1967 Pyro issue from original molds. In the early to mid 1960s the Pyro company chose many of the kit subjects based more on historical significance than popularity. Luckily for us, Pyro not only made these kits but did an excellent job for the time. The Pyro car models are based on the actual cars that Pyro engineers and designers had access to. In some cases, the specific car and owner is on the box - in this case the exact car was on display at the Auto Aviation Museum under the directorship of Mrs. Philip L. Sommerlad of the Western Reserve Historical Society, Cleveland, OH. The model includes rubber tires, brass plated parts, colored injection molded parts and clear parts. Features detailed chassis, complete motor and interior and a removable hood or 'bonnet.'

Monogram Flap Jack - Air Farce Motorized Kit, 1/48, 1143

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Exc

Sold

Rare. Second issue of this Wild 'Snap-Tite' action kit dated 1989. Motorized action spins the prop, flaps the wings and the machine guns 'fire' moving in and out. The airplane bounces around on a sprung wire stand. Comical 'Air Farce' and 'Recycled Pollution' stickers are included. Thanks to sound engineering from Monogram, it works flawlessly when built correctly. The kit has never been started. The parts are still in the internal factory sealed bags and includes stickers and instructions.

Monogram Peterbilt 359 Conventional - Semi Tractor Truck, 1/16, 2500

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Exc

Sold

Rare 1980 issue of "The Largest Plastic Scale Model Truck Kit Every Produced" in excellent condition. Very large (1/16) truck from 1980. Very well detailed. This model builds up a rolling chassis just like the actual truck with complete engine, suspension, exhaust and drive line detail. Features detailed engine compartment, opening hood, 63 inch walk-in sleeper, complete interior with CB radio, Alcoa Alloy wheels, dual exhaust stacks, twin antennas, rotating 5th wheel, air horns and side mirrors, pinstripe decals, license plates and more. Molded in yellow, black, chrome, clear and with rubber tires. The kit has not been started. The parts that Monogram factory sealed (which is most of them) are still sealed in the factory bags. The parts that were never factory sealed have been inventoried complete. Includes decals and instructions. Amazingly, I was not able to find any tire burn on this kit. That is amazing because this kit is infamous for them.

Cleveland Nieuport 17 Scout Plane - Balsa Flying Model Airplane Kit, 1/16, M-12

Wood Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good

Sold

Dated 1949. This is a Cleveland Master kit Scale Flying model in 1/16 museum scale. The box has wear as shown but the insides are in excellent condition. All Cleveland kits were exceptionally complete and this one is no exception. Features very high quality balsa printwood and strip wood, wood stock as required, completely machine carved cowl/engine, fully formed and painted scale wooden wheels, fully formed thrust bearing and rubber motor retainer, metal stock, clear windshield celluloid, 5 sheets of color insignia including an instrument panel, rigging thread, two colors of covering material, highest quality plans and more. The model has not been started. The parts have been inventoried 100% complete with all paperwork included. Plans are in 'excellent+' condition. The Cleveland Model and Supply Company played a pivotal role in the development of true scale models. In 1909 Bleriot's English Channel flight caused a surge in aviation and model aircraft around the globe. Several companies were ideally positioned to take advantage of the aviation craze. In the USA, Wading River Manufacturing Co. (1909), White Aeroplane (1911), Ideal Model Aeroplane (1911) and Broadfield Model Aeroplanes (1919) were among these pioneers, offering everything from plans and parts to complete kits and ARF models. Lindbergh's 1927 crossing of the Atlantic Ocean caused an even bigger world-wide phenomenon called "The Aviation Craze" that extended up to the start of World War II. Many companies such as Megow, Guillow's and others started right around this time. Some of these models flew and flew well, but they all had one thing in common - they were generally not accurate scale representations. In 1929, a youngster named Ed Packard had a very advanced dream-to produce incredibly accurate, true scale models that flew perfectly. This radical idea established the world's longest operating single-owner model airplane supply business- Cleveland Model and Supply Company. To this day, Cleveland models are treasured as the most accurate flying scale models produced. The fact that Mr. Packard started and successfully grew this business during The Great Depression is a testament to his ideals and business skill. I highly suggest the excellent book called 'Aviation's Great Recruiter - Cleveland's Ed Packard' by H.L. (Herm) Schreiner. It is an excellent history of the man, his company and the times of the Golden Age of Model Aviation.

Athearn Rock Island Passenger F-7A and F-7B Locomotives Genesis - HO Scale, 1/87, G1507

Metal and Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Exc++

Sold

Superbly detailed Genesis issue powered A and B locomotives. Judging from the very slight wheel wear, these were run perhaps three or four times BUT they were stored for a time 'on the track' or on a shelf (not in the factory boxes). As a result, the undersides are like new but the tops are dusty. They are 100% complete but both horns are broken off the "A" unit. The horns are present so you can repair them. Includes all three factory boxes (a box for each locomotive and the external sleeve for both those boxes), all the original factory dark gray foam packing material as well as (2) "F Series Diesel Locomotive Owners Guide" with an exploded diagrams on the back. I have no way to test these locomotives so they are sold as-is.

Athearn Rock Island F-7A and F-7B Freight Locomotives Genesis DCC Quick Plug Equipped - HO Scale, 1/87, G22084

Metal and Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: NM

Sold

Superbly detailed Genesis issue powered A and B locomotives in excellent condition. Judging from the very slight wheel wear, these were run perhaps once or twice. There are no broken parts and each engine is 100% complete. I hesitate to call anything mint, so I will grade them both as 'near mint' condition. Not perfect, but close. Includes all three factory boxes (a box for each locomotive and the external sleeve for both those boxes), all the original factory plastic and dark gray foam packing and the following paperwork: (2) "FlyWheel Drive F-Unit" exploded diagrams and parts sheet and (2) "Athearn News" sign up sheets. I have no way to test these locomotives so they are sold as-is.

Molded in the correct gloss dark green and black. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. Please note that the box displays slighter better than the 'good+' rating - but I rated it as such because there is general wear, edge wear at the lower left and light spotting on the two short sides.
