Comet Mitsubishi Zero A6M5 Super Stars Series - 21 inch Wingspan Flying Model Airplane, 1622-250

Wood Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good

Sold

From the early to mid 1970s. Large scale issue for rubber or gas free flight, or easily converted to RC using today's tiny and light servos and receivers. Box art is by Locher, who did a great deal of the Monogram box artwork also. Kit features traditional wood/tissue construction with all die cut parts, 'Tube-O-Matic' fuselage construction and 'Rugged Super X Simplified Non-Warping Wing' construction, die-cut printwood, factory cut leading & trailing edges and stripwood, colorful insignia, detailed full size plans with building instructions, full formed main and tail wheels, hardware, covering tissue and propeller. The model has not been started. Inventoried 100% complete. Comet was a famous manufacturer of stick and tissue flying and static models. In the 1930s Great Depression, they lead the low-priced kit revolution with the "Dime Scale" kits and famous advertisements in Model Airplane News magazine and others. Comet reached it's peak in the 1930s when they acquired the services of Carl Goldberg. Goldberg was a highly accomplished modeler with articles in Model Airplane News and famous designs that won him several National level competitions in the 1930s and beyond. (Carl Goldberg went on to found his own company and produced well designed and popular free-flight and RC aircraft). Comet survived the post World War economic slump and continued kit production until they were bought out by long-time competitor Guillow's in 1998.

Hubley 1930 Packard Dietrich Convertible Victoria, 1/22, 4863

Metal Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG

In the 1930s Packard was the style leader in America and a beautiful, fast status symbol. Packards were not the most expensive but were the most desired cars. The 1930s Packards are seen as the high point of the brand. This model has 140 parts. This kit is highly detailed and features metal bodies, chassis, hood, engine and other detail parts with injection molded details, clear parts, and a large tree of chrome plated parts. Builds to a very realistic model since the largest metal parts on the real car are metal on the model also. Builds a full rolling chassis with very good suspension, steering and exhaust detail. Engine is highly detailed with flexible radiators hoses and the hood is removable. Steering works through real worm-gears. Full interior detail with very clear thin windshield and special interior side panels. Never started. All the parts that were factory sealed are still in factory sealed bags. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. Ragwings Fokker D-VI - Bagged, 1/72, R002

Resin Model Kit,   Box Condition: Sealed

Sold

Still factory sealed. Very limited production kit - only a little over 100 were made. Very high quality resin castings with metal details and full decals for two aircraft. I have received the following information from Jeff Stockham on this rare kit: 'Regarding the Ragwings Fokker D.VI you have for sale, I can provide some additional background info on this kit. The company was formed and owned by Marty Snow (dba MGS Enterprises) of Rochester, NY; Marty did the masters for the Pfalz E-1 and Bristol Scout D; I did the master for the Fokker D.VI (modifying some parts from Revell's Dr.I and D.VII and scratchbuilding some) and I did the artwork for all the backing cards, decals and instructions, as well as the small print ads that appeared in FineScale Modeler and other magazines. I was halfway though the master for a really accurate Albatros D.V/D.VA when other events interfered, other makers came out with the same items, momentum slowed, and Marty eventually closed up the business. The actual production of both the resin and metal copies was subcontracted to Ted Paris of Commanders Series Inc, Rochester NY; I think that Decal Master printed the decals. In all the years since, I have never seen one of these for sale. I know Marty marketed them directly to retail buyers via mail order ads in FSM; I don't know how many he actually sold, but it wasn't enough to make it worth the effort. These have to be among of the rarest short-run resin kits ever. I never did build one of these D.VI's up, but I do remember that it got a very positive review in one of the British modeling magazines (I think it was Windsock.)' The kit has never been started.

Sold

Build the ultimate 1/72 B-47! Includes rare Eagles Talon #ET602 Stratojet Update Kit designed by Hit-Kit. This is an extensive and high quality set that features a giant atomic bomb, 8 small bombs and two larger bombs, bomb holding trapeze gear, detailed bomb bay, full resin cockpit with floor, side panels, ejection seats, control columns and instrument panels, detailed gear wells, beautiful cast metal landing gear main struts and outriggers as well as strut braces and illustrated instructions. Complete and never used. The actual model is very nicely detailed with fine panel detail, open/closed bomb bay doors with internal iron bomb load, tail "stinger" and detailed landing gear with good well detail. The kit has never been started. The parts are still in the internal factory sealed bags. With decals and instructions. The B-47 was a very advanced aircraft at the time. The XB-47 first flew in 1947. The big jet's speed was equal to or greater than all current fighter aircraft, so it received radar-controlled twin 20mm cannons in the tail as the only guns. Through the use of mid-air refueling, the B-47 gave SAC it's first all-jet force for nuclear or regular bomb delivery. Although it was tricky to fly, Stratojets flew into the mid 1960s. A program to strengthen the wings for low-level attack was responsible for prolonging the service life.
