Original issue from 1975. Can be built one of three ways. Drag and Street versions include many optional parts and even a 350 CID V-8 option. Features detailed complete engine, engine compartment, opening hood, full interior, rotating wheels, exhaust and underside detail. Molded in white, clear, red tinted clear, and chrome. With real rubber tires. The kit has never been started. The white parts that were factory sealed are still in the sealed bags. The clear and chrome parts were never factory sealed have been inventoried complete including decals and instructions.

Very Rare. Dated 1967 and includes factory-painted copper hull in excellent condition. Very highly detailed kit with lifeboats and davits, removable cargo hatches and detailed holds, preformed ratlines and deadeyes, all rigging material and standing/running rigging instructions, crew of 20 action figures, movable rudder, blocks, metal chains and a highly detailed deck with bilge pump, hand winches, anchors, fire buckets, pumps, life preservers and more. The kit has never been started. The white parts are still in the internal factory sealed bag. The black and brown parts have been carefully inventoried 100% complete. Includes rigging materials (still sealed) 'near mint' condition decals, flags and instructions. Unusual Portuguese Navy training vessel from the late 1890s. When the age of steam made sailing ships less desirable, the famous Thermopylae (known for her races with the Cutty Sark) was sold to the Portuguese Navy and modified to became the Pedro Nunes.

Comet Douglas Skystreak D558-1 For JETEX - 23.7 Inches Long - Coca-Cola Bottle Issue (D-558), Y11-129

Designed to be flown with JETEX jet power pack. Part of the deluxe high-cost Comet "Y" kit line from the 1950s/early 1960s. This kit was purchased new on April 6, 1963, which was the final year for this box design Note the box showing a bottle of Coke next to the young builder's snack tray and a finished aircraft. Large scale issue with the 'Coke Bottle' box design. Measures 23 13/16 inches long with a 17 inch wingspan when assembled. Kit features traditional wood/tissue construction, very high quality printwood, stripwood and spars, other balsa stock as required, completely preformed wood wheels, covering tissue (still folded in the instructions from the factory) and superb full size plans with instructions. The model has not been started. It has been inventoried complete. At the time of this kit, the entire Comet "Y" line consisted of Y1 F-51 Mustang, Y2 A-26 Invader, Y3 P-47, Y4 Hellcat F6f, Y5 P-38 Lightning, Y6 F-84F Thunderflash, Y7 Cougar F9F, Y8 Taylorcraft, Y9 Douglas Skyray F4D, Y10 Piper Cub Super Cruiser, Y11 Douglas Skystreak D558-1, Y12 F-86 Sabre, Y13 Gull and Y14 Aeronca Chief. Comet was a famous manufacturer of stick and tissue flying and static models. In the 1930s Great Depression, they lead the low-priced kit revolution with the "Dime Scale" kits and famous advertisements in Model Airplane News magazine and others. Comet reached it's peak in the 1930s when they acquired the services of Carl Goldberg. Goldberg was a highly accomplished modeler with articles in Model Airplane News and famous designs that won him several National level competitions in the 1930s and beyond. (Carl Goldberg went on to found his own company and produced well designed and popular free-flight and RC aircraft). Comet survived the post World War economic slump and continued kit production until they were bought out by long-time competitor Guillow's in 1998.
