Nicely molded basic vacuform kit of this interesting aircraft. The J-10 was an all metal aircraft and was actually a modified J-8 (CL-1) ground attack fighter. 47 J-10s were build as a joint venture between Junkers and Fokker. This kit has not been started and has been inventoried complete with all parts. Not recommended for builders who are not experienced with vacuform kits.

Possibly the finest KVZ kit ever issue. It is accurate, detailed and cleanly molded kit. Features realistic scale corrugated skin surface, full interior for both cockpit and passenger compartments, separately molded control surfaces and rotating wheels and props. There is a large decal sheet with Swedish or Swiss Airliner markings. The model has never been started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions. The G24 was created due to the success of the F13 and the greatly increasing passenger traffic in Europe and overseas. It was clear to Junkers that a larger and more efficient aircraft was needed. Junkers filed his design application with the International Commission for Air Navigation and it was approved on February 8, 1925. However, the prototype was started in 1923 and by the summer of 1924 the first G23 was built. The three engine configuration carried two pilots and nine passengers comfortably and had baggage and mail storage aft and also a lavatory/toilet. Flight testing took place in autumn of 1924 near Nurnberg; however, it was decided to carry out the remainder of the testing in Dubendorf in Switzerland. As a result, the Swiss airline "Ad Astra Aero" immediately placed orders for the aircraft and in 1925 four machines were delivered. All aircraft of the first line (wk # 831 to 851) were designated G23. To get around the Treaty of Versailles, many individual components were shipped to Sweden were they were assembled by Aktie Bolaget Flyindustrie at Limhamn. These were fitted with more powerful engines also. This was very successful, so many Junkers-completed G23s were flown to Switzerland upon completion for the newer, more powerful engines. These Swedish build and also the modified aircraft were called G24s. To avoid treaty limitations, most were first registered with foreign airlines before being registered in Germany. When the restrictions were listed, the aircraft were quickly painted in German colors. This was a very successful design for that time and 70 G24s were built and pressed into a number of different services. During it's lifetime, a variety of engines were installed, often with the wing engines of a different type than the nose engine. Sometimes the wingspan was changed due to these installations. In 1928, the first line ships were revamped into single-engine cargo aircraft called F24s with a single BMW engine.

Type three logo issue from the 1960s. In the 1930s Pan Am was a household word in the USA for their romantic foreign routes and the glamorous 'China Clippers' that crossed the Pacific Ocean, stopping at such ports as Wake Island. Pan Am's attention soon turned to the Atlantic. Since non-stop service would be needed, a new aircraft was designed. The Boeing 314 was chosen. This huge flying boat started flying the Atlantic mail in 1939 with a trip over 26 hours long. Before the war, the 314 fleet flew the Pacific, Atlantic and other routes. The airliner was a palace compared to the cramped jets and limited service of today. The flight deck compared to the bridge of a ship and housed a crew of 6 in comfort. It was connected to the passenger cabin by a spiral staircase. The luxurious cabins were divided into 5 standard compartments, each seating 10 passengers, a dining salon for 14, a special compartment for four and a deluxe bridal suite. 74 could be carried on day trips and 40 when sleeping quarters for all passengers was required. Chefs prepared gourmet meals while passengers lounged in deeply cushioned wicker chairs and enjoyed a grand view of the scenery from about 5,000 feet. The age of the Clippers ended shortly after WWII when land planes could operate at much higher speeds than the flying boats. This model includes decals for both aircraft listed. Never started. Rare model of this very attractive subject. Beautifully cast in high-definition resin with all fine recessed panel lines, cockpit, optional position landing gear and full decals. The kit has never been started. The parts are still in the internal factory sealed bags and includes decals and instructions. The Do-212 shared it's good looks with many other Dornier creations of the time. It did not, however, share the success of the other designs. The Dornier Do 212 was a highly-original four-seat experimental amphibian flying boat built by the Swiss subsidiary of the DornierWerke at Altenrhein, near Rorschach, on Lake Constance. Its only relationship to the Do 12 Libelle III of 1932, apart from a common design origin, was that it was conceived as a successor for the earlier aircraft. Design work on the Do 212 was initiated by the Dornier-Werke at Friedrichshafen in 1938, the German and Swiss branches of the company subsequently collaborating in its development, the latter being responsible for the actual construction of the prototype. The Do 212 was an all-metal cantilever monoplane with fixed wingtip floats and a 460 bp Hirth HM 512B 12-cylinder air-cooled engine which, mounted aft of the four-seat cabin, was buried in the fuselage and drove a four-bladed propeller aft of the tail by means of an extension shaft which could be raised to provide adequate water clearance during takeoff and landing. The prototype (HB-GOG) was completed in 1942. Initial water taxing trials resulting in the enlarging of the wingtip floats, and one short hop off the water was made on 3 August 1942. However, the Do 212 was overly complex and had difficulties with the extension drive shaft and (as you can imagine) engine cooling presented a serious problem. Additionally, initial water also revealed that the wing tip float needed to be enlarged and so they were. However, there was a much more sinister problem: pitch instability. On 3 August 1942, a few attempts to take off from water were made, but these failed. A Do 24 was used to tow the Do 212 and it finally flew; however, this instability forced the pilot to ditch just after takeoff. Further trials ended the same way. Although we can never know for sure, it looks like a classic case of the design CG being too far aft. Consequently, no further testing was undertaken and the sole prototype was scrapped.
