Tamiya US Army Heavy Field Piece M2 155mm Long Tom Gun, 1/21, DT103-450

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good

Sold

Legendary and rare model. This early, large-scale Tamiya kit is an amazing operating model, even by modern standards. Well detailed and features a complex gun elevating system that works by turning the proper hand wheel which then functions through a series of metal pinion gears, functional elevation pistons, working transversing gear through turning the correct hand wheel (through metal pinion gears also), opening breech, movable trailing arms for travel or firing position, removable wheel towing set with realistic suspension that you build up one leaf spring at a time and much more. This model does everything but launch a projectile; there is a inner metal barrel and some other (rubber banded moving) parts I do not understand, so it may well fire something. The model is molded in dark olive drab, light gray, with rubber tires and with a large number of metal parts. The kit has never been started. Inside it is exactly as it left the factory, with all parts factory sealed in clear bags with Tamiya 155mm M2 Gun paper headers. Please NOTE that the box displays slightly better than the grade. It is rated as such because there is tape residue on some of the lower border of the four sides. There is also tape and residue on the box tray (lower half of the box).

Megow Ranger Class B Gas Model - 44 Inch Wingspan Early Free Flight Aircraft, E-22

Wood and Metal Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good

Sold

Very, very rare. From the late 1930s or pre-war 40s. Fred Megow once stated that they lost money on the big gas models and sold very few; they were done for status only. This is a one owner kit; the box top and tray are in good condition given the age of the model; that stain on the litho lowers the overall grade to 'good'. The box top and bottom are 100% intact, never repaired and have great corners. Inside, the kit has never been touched. The small parts are still in the sealed paper envelope and it appears that the plans have never been unfolded. Includes quality printwood, stock balsa, factory cut stringers and spars (still held in a bundle together with the factory rubber bands), balsa and hardwood stock cut to general shape, fully formed wooden wheels, fully formed wire landing gear struts, sealed hardware packet and more. It is complete with all parts and plans. I do not see any covering tissue, but some models did not come with it (and it may be in the never opened plans).

Megow WOG Class B Gas Model - 60 Inch Wingspan For R/C or Free Flight, E27

Wood Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good++

Sold

Rare 1940s competition gas free flight model that was engineered by William Winter, editor of the then-famous air magazine 'Air Trails'. The WOG was an outstanding performer and an excellent seller until Megow closed it's doors in the late 1940s. This model came from the estate of a very active and particular early aircraft kit collector. It is like factory-new inside and has not been started. The wood stock is still tied together with the factory string. The small parts are still sealed in several paper envelopes; all other parts have been inventoried complete along with two sheets of near-mint condition plans.

Bluejacket USS Maine Battleship 1898 - 30.5 Inches Long, 1/128, K1898

Wood and Metal Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG++

Sold

Number 11 of 100 made. Very limited production multi-media kit and the largest, most accurate USS Maine kit ever created. For Bluejacket's' centennial celebration (1905-2005), they created this kit. Features machine-carved solid basswood hull, laser-cut wood and styrene parts, brittania metal fittings, cast resin boats and sponsons, hundreds of photoetched brass parts in three different thicknesses, five sheets of full-sized plans and detailed step-by-step instructions. The kit has never been started; it is as it left the factory. The parts are still in the internal factory sealed bags and includes plans and instructions.

Academy Consolidated PBY-2 Catalina, 1/72, 2122

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Sealed Exc

Sold

Still factory sealed but the seal has some splits. An excellent model that is very well detailed. Molded with very fine, all recessed panel lines and features interior detail, beaching gear, optional bomb load, optional position wing tip floats, rotating propellers, real rubber tires and very colorful decals for the pre-WWII aircraft shown on the box top.

Skywave IJN Chiyoda Aircraft Carrier - Chitose Class, 1/700, W72

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG

Sold

Rare kit of this ship once converted to an aircraft carrier. Very highly detailed waterline model includes separately molded AA armament, ships boats, walkways, radio masts, underside bracing for AA gun tubs and more. There is a large sheet of decals with extensive flight deck markings and even aircraft decals (although aircraft were not included with this kit). Never started. The parts are still in the internal factory sealed bags and includes decals and instructions.

Revell USS Pennsylvania BB38 Battleship - Sea Power Issue, 1/426, H422-200

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG

Sold

1961 Sea Power softbox release. Rare kit of the Arizona's sister ship. The Pennsylvania was in dry-dock during the December 7th Pearl Harbor attack and survived with minimal damage. She was rebuilt and saw significant action in the Pacific in WWII, steaming over 150,000 miles from 1941 to 1945. It is thought that she may have fired more ammunition than any ship in history and she never once reported 'Not Ready' for any operation or need. After being used as a nuclear test ship at Bikini, she was towed to Kwajalein and sunk. Never started. All parts and even the paperwork is still sealed in the factory clear bag.

MPC He-177 A-5 Grief with HS-293 Guided Missiles - (ex-Airfix), 1/72, 1200-200

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good

Sold

From 1960s Airfix molds. Well detailed for that time and features opened or closed bomb bay doors with full bomb load, moving gun turrets, working rudder, elevator and ailerons, retracting landing gear, simulated spinning props (clear disks), five crew members, standard and custom decals, rotating wheels and four-bladed props and three optional Hs-293 Guided Missiles. The kit has never been started. The parts are still in the internal factory sealed bags and includes instructions. NOTE: decals are present, but they are from the Airfix issue of this same kit. The original MPC ones were peeling badly, which is typical of this kit.

Pit Road IJN Akagi With Three Flying Decks (Pre-1935), 1/700, HM-020

Resin Model Kit,   Box Condition: Sealed Exc++

Sold

Still factory sealed. Rare, very high quality waterline kit of the Akagi in the three-deck configuration. Features superbly cast resin hull and deck sections, three large trees of injection molded details, numerous cast metal details and precision cast metal biplane torpedo bombers and biplane fighters. There are extensive decals for the air wing and the ship. The initial idea for Akagi was to make three decks to speed up the take-off and landing of aircraft. It worked initially, but by 1935 the lower two decks were not long enough for the heavier aircraft. At that point Akagi was reconstructed to a single deck configuration.

Aurora Boeing KC-135 Jet Stratotanker, 1/125, 143-175

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good

Sold

1974 Aurora of Canada issue from ex-Comet molds. This is the largest of the two Comet molds and has clear cockpit and cabin windows, full landing gear and a 'tanker' rear end and refueling boom (although the box art does not show it). Molded in gloss silver and clear. This model was given a clear Aurora two piece 'triangle world' stand, unlike many of the other Comet kits which only had a modified version of their original stands included. Of course this is not the production KC-135 but a model of the Boeing prototype. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions.
