1976 first issue for Monogram in 1/48 scale and with desirable Diorama Instructions. Very finely molded and detailed kit with traditional high Monogram quality. Has optional position canopy, detailed cockpit, landing gear and wheel wells, two Sidewinder missiles and external tanks. NOTE: this kit has very minor and neat assembly - the drop tank halves and rudder halves are built to 'professional' quality. There is no other assembly. Very successful Soviet flying boat. Large 1/72 scale kit is nicely molded for KVZ. NOTE: this kit has minor 'professional' quality sub-assembly as follows: floats assembled; wing 1/2 and ailerons assembled; horizontal stabilizer halves assembled. There is no other assembly. The actual aircraft is inventoried complete and includes decals and instructions but NOTE: missing display stand.

UPC stood for Universal Powermaster Corporation which was based out of New York City, NY. UPC did not cut their own molds, but bought kits already molded from other manufacturers and re-boxed the kits in the USA. Scott Eidson, the famous artist best known for his artwork with Revell, also did UPC box art in the 1960s. All UPC production ended in the 1970s.

Hasegawa IJN Submarine I-400, 1/700, B-37-100

Hasegawa/Minicraft issue. The I-400 was a huge 400 foot long submarine that carried three seaplanes. Originally it was intended to launch its aircraft against the Panama Canal, but this attack never materialized. Three of the seventeen subs originally planned for this class were completed. KeilKraft was produced by the E. Keil & Company, Limited of Wickford, Essex Great Britain. Keil specialized in stick and tissue scale flying models and gliders. However, they moved into injection molded kits after WWII. Four kits were planned but only two were released. This Hurricane was the first one, followed by F2, a Sopwith Camel. The Stuka and Chipmunk were never issued. This kit has not been started. The parts are either still in the factory sealed bag or inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions.
