Monogram B-52 Stratofortress with Jet Sound Vietnam Camouflage Issue - With All Internal Packing Material And Seal Frame, 1/72, PA215

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good++

Sold

Rare 1969 issue has Vietnam-style boxart on a high-gloss box. It is even rarer to find this kit with all the cardboard and correct paperwork present. This is the 2nd release of this kit and the last with rare 'Jet Sound.' These models were designed with a major selling point - an internal parts display that could be seen by potential modelers at the store. While at your local hobby shop, you could lift the box top off and underneath was a fantastic display, all sealed by a yellow cardboard framed sheet of clear cellophane. This kit contains the yellow frame in 'excellent' condition- the cello has rotted away like most. Under the frame, all cardboard presentation is still mint and even includes the inner colored cardboard spacer and factory tissue packing paper. At this point (1969), Monogram had ceased making 'Monoglue', so the B-52 presentation cardboard often had other glue brands factory-installed there -this one has Testors. Contains 207 parts. Very nicely detailed. Features crew of three, detailed cockpit, elevating and traversing rear turret, opening and closing bomb bay doors, operating wing flaps, operating spoilers, optional position entry hatch and landing gear, and optional parts to display one nacelle open to show the jet engine and of course battery-powered realistic Jet Sound. Molded in the correct dark green and clear. It has never been started. The metal and electrical hardware for "Jet Sounds" are still factory sealed. The other parts have been inventoried complete with 'excellent' decals, instructions, B-52 booklet and Jet Sound supplement instructions present.

Derived from the Empire Class Flying Boat Airliners, Sunderland IIIs had a top speed of 210 mph and an endurance of 12 hours. These qualities made the Sunderland a superb platform for North Sea and North Atlantic patrols, ASW and SAR. Crews usually loved the airplane; its large size afforded many airborne comforts that bomber or fighter crews could only dream of, such as bunk, a head and an area for food preparation.
