Monogram B-26 Invader - Four Star Issue / True Second Issue, 1/67, P6-98

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Fair

True second issue from 1955. Rare. Few people (including me) knew that there was a second release of P6-98 that varied significantly from the first issue. The first issue has a part number of 'P6-98', early '4 star' rectangle logo, black rubber main gear tires and no support peg to keep it from being a 'tail sitter' when assembled. The second issue (this kit) has the same part number, logo but has regular injection molded (silver) tires and a peg to keep the nose gear grounded. The instructions show these changes are are numbered P6, as are the decals. Molded in correct gloss silver and clear plastic. Never started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. NOTE: the nose strut is broken from the fuselage half; it fits back perfectly for a straight-forward repair.

From quality Frog molds. Box art is by the famous Jo Kotula who did 1930s covers for the magazine 'Model Airplane News' and later the Aurora box art of the late 1950s/early 1960s. Air Lines kits are all Frog molds that the Lines Brothers imported to the USA between 1964-1966. The kits, decals and instructions were made in England, then imported to the USA where Testors created the boxes with the colorful trading cards on the back. There are one or two 'box art' trading cards on each box. Molded in silver and clear. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions.

Rare 1957 second issue. Please note the 'Famous Fighters' with the yellow background still in place where they covered up the first rectangular logo. Aurora Spad XIII, 1/48, 107-79

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good

Sold

Second issue hardbox is dated 1957 with great Jo Kotula artwork. Although dated '57, it is from about 1963 due to the lack of 'Famous Fighters' in the border of the oval logo. This is part of a popular and very successful series of 1/48 scale WWI aircraft that Aurora started in 1956 and added to well into the 1960s. Many of the line were in production right up until the demise of Aurora in the mid 1970s. Molded in correct olive drab and black plastic. Never started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions. Please note that the box is only 'good' with scuffs as show, especially across the top.

ITC N-156 Freedom Fighter - F-5A, 1/50, 3714-98

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good+

Sold

Very rare kit from 1960, released shortly before ITC discontinued all plastic kit production. This is the only very-near 1/48 scale kit of the original prototype for the F-5, designated N156 by Northrop. It is a nicely molded kit for that time featuring moving elevators, retractable landing gear, working ejection seat, wing-tip missiles that actually 'fire', underwing bombs with remote release, pilot figure and Northrop prototype decals. Never started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. This kit found fame not only as rare subject matter, but also co-staring on the ITC TV commercial for the toy "Robot Commando." In this video, the child orders the Robot into action against a cornucopia of dangerous elements. One such threat is an airborne N156, clearly called up on to eliminate this menace to society (and ironically his injection-molded brethren). Unfortunately for the world of toy Aerospace, Robot Commando vanquishes his vile foe with one shot; we won't even guess how many takes were required for that scene. Fortunately the real N156 had a much longer service life than the robot, serving many countries at the F-5 Freedom Fighter and T-38 Talon.

Nichimo Zero Type 52 Zeke - Motorized Propeller Rotates and Aircraft Taxis, 1/35, 12

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Exc

Sold

Very rare and early large-scale issue 'action' model with a high gloss box top and highly collectible artwork. This model is engineered for motorized operation of the propeller and tail wheel so it will taxi realistically. Features all metal gear box, other gear drives and linkage, all required hardware, working rudder, elevator, ailerons and wing flaps, pilot figure and opening canopy, folding wing tips, retractable landing gear and a drop tank (which also cleverly houses the battery). Please note that Nichimo did not furnish the electric motor with this model; it had to be purchased separately. Never started. The parts are still in the internal factory sealed bags and includes decals and instructions.

S Nakajima Ki-43 Hayabusa Oscar, 1/50, 2

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good

Sold

Very, very rare. Little is known about "S" beyond that fact that it was a Japanese company who issued this 1/50 Oscar in 1966. The kit box has a very high gloss cover and great box art. The model is exceptionally well molded for that time. Features superbly molded pieces for that time with very fine surface detail, working rudder, ailerons, wing trailing edge flaps and elevators, retractable landing gear, dual drop tanks, pilot bust, three piece canopy and more. Molded in a beautiful light mint green and clear plastic. Never started. Many parts are still factory sealed inside; the one that are not are inventoried complete. Includes instructions and decals, both in 'excellent' condition. Even includes the original glue. Although only this kit is known from manufacturer "S", this is kit #2, so perhaps there is a #1 as well. "S" clearly cut the molds for this kit as they don't match any other Ki-43.
