Still factory sealed but the seal has shrunk and pulled the box concave at the two short ends. From original Aurora molds. The I-19 is famous for firing history's most successful torpedo spread off Guadalcanal. On September 14, 1942, the I-19 was patrolling of the Solomons when the crew made visual contact with the American forces. After working into position, she fired a 6 torpedo spread. Three hit and sank the US Carrier CV-7 WASP, and the remaining three exploded against the BB North Carolina and the destroyer O'Brien. The destroyer sank and the North Carolina had to be repaired at Pearl till November 16, 1942. The I-19's Glen seaplane also flew night reconnaissance on February 23, 1942 over Pearl Harbor for the planned second attack by Emily flying boats on that base. Large scale kit is almost 16 inches long when assembled. This is an excellent model for that time from Aurora's improved efforts of the late 1960s/early 1970s. Aurora knew that the older kits were outclassed and cut a new series of better molds including several ships, helos and subs. The result was higher mold quality and very good detail, such as this kit. Includes display stand, decals, periscope and cranes, Glen seaplane, conning tower and deck guns.

Very rare. First and only issue from 1963; very shortly after this kit was issued, ITC discontinued all plastic kit production. This is a large 1/450 scale kit of the SS France, one of the most beautiful ocean liners of all time. Very good detail for the time. Features full hull that is 24.75 inches long, 124 parts, 2 winged funnels, 3 anchors, 4 propellers, 2 launches, 20 lifeboats, 2 whaleboats, detailed mast, kingposts and superstructure. Inside, the kit is like new. The kit is molded in black (hull), red (funnels and fittings) and ivory (promenade and superstructure) to minimize painting like in the ITC United States. Kit also includes a beautiful letter (with a color painting of the France on the letterhead) from Georges Croisile, the Commandant of the French Line, introducing the kit and welcoming you onboard the real France one day. The kit has never been started. Almost all parts are still sealed in the factory bags. The red parts are not sealed but have been inventoried complete. Decals, flag sheets and instructions are included.
