Hasegawa Boeing B-47E Stratojet, 1/72, 1223

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good

Sold

Kit is very nicely detailed with fine panel detail, cockpit, open/closed bomb bay doors with internal iron bomb load, tail "stinger" and detailed landing gear with good well detail. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. The B-47 was a very advanced aircraft at the time. The XB-47 first flew in 1947. The big jet's speed was equal to or greater than all current fighter aircraft, so it received radar-controlled twin 20mm cannons in the tail as the only guns. Through the use mid-air refueling, the B-47 gave SAC it's first all-jet force for nuclear or regular bomb delivery. Although it was tricky to fly, Stratojets flew into the mid 1960s. A program to strengthen the wings for low-level attack was responsible for prolonging the service life.

Minicraft Boeing B-52H Stratofortress - with GMA-87A Skybolt / AGM-69 SRAM / AGM-28 Hound Dog / ADM-20 Quail Missiles - 'Paul Bunyan' Serial 0-00061 (ex-Crown), 1/144, 14430

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Exc

Sold

From 1998. Hard to find model from high quality Crown molds. This is often considered the finest Cold-War model of the B-52 due to the large and varied weapons load. Excellent kit with all recessed panel line detail. Features all the missiles listed and 5 extra clear display stands for each. The Skybolt was a plan to deliver an ALBM (Air Launched Ballistic Missile) from a B-52 to greatly enhance it's survivability. Skybolt failed 5 of 6 initial tests, but finally was successful. However, the program was canceled due to the availability of the Polaris SLBM. Plans to equip the RAF Vulcan with Skybolt fell through and left with British with no modern nuclear force, causing them to adapt the Polaris SLBM and passing strategic nuclear capability from the RAF to the RN. AGM-28 Hound Dog was a sleek design to help B-52 penetrate thick SAM defenses. Hound Dog could use it's engines to help the B-52 during take off and then could be refueled from the B-52's tanks. This was an important point as the B-52 carried 2 of these missiles at 5 tons each. Hound Dog had a range of 200 to 500 miles (depending on launch height) at Mach 2.0 and an accuracy of one mile at those ranges. The warhead was 4 megatons. SRAM was a nuclear-armed short range missile carried in quantity of 20. SRAM was designed to blast holes in defenses in front of the B-52 and for the final target. Quail was a decoy that would mimic the B-52 with radar reflectors, infrared, radar repeaters and chaff decoys. Quail did reach operational status and operated on some Hound Dog-equipped B-52s. The kit has never been started. Internal factory sealed bag including decals and instructions.

Jo-Han 1960 Desoto Adventurer Two Door Hardtop, 1/25, C4460

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG+

Sold

The long, low lines and graceful fins stretching from the "A" pillar to the taillights made for a beautiful Desoto. Sales in 1960 lagged, however. It was not that the car was bad - the cars were reliable and stunning performers. Desoto was more the victim of corporate political infighting than anything else. The 1960s were the last full line, with a brief introduction of two Desoto Automobiles in 1961. Since Desoto cars were still in demand, some dealerships even sued the Chrysler Corporation for discontinuing the line. Model is very well molded with excellent detail. Model features full engine and detailed compartment, opening hood, full interior, spotlight, gearshift/turn signal/tach assembly, seat belts and side view mirrors. Molded in white, clear, red-tinted clear, chrome plate parts and rubber tires. Chrome and clear are in 'excellent+' condition. Never started. Inventoried 100% complete with all other parts and instructions. Please NOTE that one part (windshield washer bag) is red; it is from this kit but one molded in red.

Stewart Hobbies Rock Island F7 Phase 1 Early A/B Locomotive Set HO Scale, HO

Metal and Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG+

Sold

Beautiful powered set that is completely factory assembled, painted and lettered. The paint is in 'excellent++' condition with the only flaws being loss of paint on the side handrails. This happened because the locomotive rests on these in the storage box- easily touched up with black paint. I see no broken or damaged parts and the bellows work properly. Includes instructions. I have no way to test this set, so like all locomotives it is sold as is. The box says this is an 'unpowered' set but there is a Mitzel Trains company sticker that has "Both Powered" written on it - and they are certainly powered.
