Testors Douglas DC-3 - Bagged, 1/72, 879

Bagged kit - no box. The box is shown for reference only. Features optional parts for different variants, all recessed panel lines, full cockpit, pilots, internal bulkheads, cabin floor, detailed engines and more. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried and NOTE: missing (1) optional clear window (the fuselage must be cut to accommodate this window) includes all other plastic parts and instructions. NOTE: Missing decals. Decals have a stain but are completely usable. The DC-3 is directly responsible for bringing the US airlines into the modern transportation age. She pioneered regular cross-country travel and flew over 90% of the passenger miles in 1939, virtually taking over the airline business. The speed, comfort and economy of the DC-3 was responsible for doubling air traffic only two years after it went into service.

From ex-ITC molds and contains a large, colorful decal sheet for all three versions listed. The Condor was perhaps the first 'Modern Airliner' featuring electric retractable landing gear and a comfortable sound-proofed cabin. The kit has never been started. The small parts are still in the internal factory sealed bag; the larger parts were not sealed and have been inventoried complete. Includes decals and instructions. The box displays much better than the 'Fair+' ranking but is graded as such because there is a 1.5" x 1" section of cardboard missing from the right short side of the box top.

Italeri Dornier Do-24T Reconnaissance Seaplane - Luftwaffe 106th Coastal Patrol Wing Baltic Sea or Air/Sea Rescue Wing Syracuse 1943 or Swedish Air Force, 1/72, 122

Very nicely molded and detailed kit with 116 parts. Features all fine recessed panel lines, detailed cockpit, rotating turrets, separately molded elevators and markings for three aircraft - two Luftwaffe and one Swedish. Never started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. The Do-24 was being built in Holland under license. When the Germans invaded, they found 3 done and 25 in various states of completion. The Air Ministry was looking for aircraft suitable to salvage sunk aircraft, and the Do-24 fit the bill. The American Wright engines were removed and BMWs installed. The Do-24 went on to see successful service in WWII as recon, supply and ambulance aircraft. A squadron was supplied to Spain, and one Do-24 remained operational until 1970.

Successful German WWII helicopter design, and the first with counter-rotating intermeshing blades (in 1938). A further development of the Fl-265, flight tests showed that the Fl-282 was an excellent helicopter. It even flew from destroyers and minelayers while underway in he Baltic and Med. 1000 were ordered, but by the end of WWII only 24 had been built. Never started. The parts are still in the internal factory sealed bags and includes decals and instructions.

Includes decals and marking guide for 8 aircraft. Some of the LS molds are still in use by Hasegawa, testifying to the their detail and accuracy.

Very high quality kit with 92 vac moldings (11 in clear), 48 injection molded parts, decals for 7 versions and full instructions. The white vac moldings are very finely done with recessed panel lines and the clear vac moldings are still perfectly clear (no yellowing) and in 'near mint' condition. Can be built as a complete kit, or use parts/decals to convert a injection molded Ju-88 to a rare version. Never started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions.

Airfix Supermarine Spitfire Mk1a Motorized, 1/24, 1201

Rare first issue from the 1960s with the T3 logo and high gloss box top. Highly detailed, large 1/24 scale kit that is engineered to be motorized (Airfix sold the motor separately, however). Features detailed engine, removable cowling, detailed gun bays with access panels, full cockpit, optional position canopy and pilot entry door, movable control surfaces and much more. Never started. The parts are still in the internal factory sealed bags and includes decals and instructions. The box is intact but has wear and the top is concave as shown, hence the grade of only 'fair.'

Fairly recent (1990s?) reissue of Airfix's older but impressive VW Beetle featuring molded one-piece body, full suspension, complete interior, clear windows, separately molded door and trunk/hood handles, fine moldings and clear headlight and fog light lenses. Never started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions present but NOTE: instructions are low-resolution photocopies. They are certainly good enough to build the kit from but are not of the usual high quality.

The Triebfluegel was designed as a point defense weapon needing nothing more than a flat area for take off and landing. Although ingenious, the pilot would have faced the same problems of the later VTOL designs from the 1950s. Limited edition injection molded kit with fine recessed panel lines. Nicely detailed with many parts and full decals. Never started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. NOTE: there is a small chip missing from the front of the canopy. The chip is not large but it is certainly big enough to notice, so some repair or replacement will have to be done.

The first operational jet fighter for the USA. F-80s played key rolls in the Berlin Airlift and the Korean War. The two seater (available as a Hawk kit) was used as a trainer long after the Shooting Star fighter-bomber left service. Very well detailed model includes optional parts to be built as a fighter-bomber or fighter-interceptor and features detailed cockpit and machine gun bay, removable gun hatch, optional position canopy, detailed gear wells, removable tail section with detailed turbojet engine (aft section), a stand for the rear fuselage section and more. Includes colorful decals for the box art aircraft. Never started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions.

1974 'short box' second issue. Very highly detailed for that time with complete interior, folding wings, elevating and rotating tail gun, rotating prop, working arresting gear, optional position gun compartment doors and front/rear canopy, and parts to build the bomber or torpedo versions with markings for three aircraft including the yellow-winged pre-war versions and Torpedo 8 from the Battle of Midway. Inventoried 100% complete including all parts, 'excellent' decals and instructions but NOTE: this kit has very minor and very neat subassembly as follows: cockpit tub built and painted. Interior surfaces airbrushed silver with some black details to 'near mint' quality. There is no other assembly or painting.

Very large 1/28 scale kit from 1975. This is a reissue of the famous 1957 'S' kit. Nicely molded and detailed for that time. Features 'Hat-In-The-Ring' 94th Aero Squadron markings for Captain Eddie Rickenbacker's aircraft, detailed Hispano-Suiza engine, removable inspection panels, detailed machine guns, full cockpit, rotating wheels and prop, very fine 'fabric' detailing over ribs and stringers and full rigging instructions. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. Box displays much better than the 'very good+' grade but is rated as such because there is a piece of clear tape on each of the four sides.
