Normal wait is two to four weeks. The USS Vestal was in fleet service from 1913 to 1946. She was moored next to the USS Arizona on December 7th, 1941 at Pearl Harbor and heavily damaged. Vestal's crew provided essential rescue services to survivors and crew of other damaged ships and was subsequently did her own repairs with her skilled crew and on-board equipment and machinery. She served throughout the Pacific War, repairing major damage to BBs, CVs, CVLS, and many other types.
