Late 50s early 60s stick and tissue flying model. 24 inch wingspan. Never started and complete with all parts and plans. Missing decals. Includes extra parts from another S4C kit also. Guillow's founder, Paul K. Guillow, was a WWI naval aviator. In 1926 he began producing wooden model airplane kits. His 'Shelf Models' were some of the earlier non-flying models in production. Guillow's grew during the model boom of the 1930s, and when the Depression hit the hardest, Guillow's responded with lower prices and became one of the low price leaders, frequently advertising in Model Airplane News and other leading publications. During the war, like most manufacturers, Guillow's was forced to alternative materials such as cardboard and pine. Guillow's survived the post WWII slump by creating many inexpensive profile flying rubber powered aircraft and gliders in the 1950s (along with North Pacific) which became famous - some are still available today. The stick and tissue lines have been updated with laser cut parts and are still in production as of 2011.

This model is a landmark in the history of Plastic Kits. The Varney Fleet Sub is still the primary candidate for the first all-plastic ship kit made in the USA. Made in the mid 1940's by the famous train model maker. One-piece molded hull and full details. Very large instruction sheet folds out to illustrate construction and offers numerous display ideas for this new medium. Very dramatic and colorful box art. This kit is complete with the original box top, bottom box, inner packing material, hull, details and instruction sheet. Kit is unstarted and 100% complete with all parts and instructions. Decals were not provided with the kit. Box has great color but is only fair condition. Flaws include tears, stains, etc as shown. Side panels are only fair with the same flaws.

Very rare Topping model of the prototype X-19 in 1/48. Engines tilt on for and aft wings. Two were built and tested by the Airforce but never entered production. Stregth of the gearboxes were one significant consideration in the project's demise, not to mention the crash of prototype #1. The aircraft is in great condition with all original paint and markings. This is a Topping base but not believed to be correct for this aircraft.

Very rare promotional model given to Navy Brass to promote the Naval fighter-bomber version of the F-111B. Only 7 Navy variants were built total as this aircraft was not suited to aircraft carrier operations. The F-111B has a shorter wingspan and nose than it's much longer lived Airforce counterpart. This model is in exceptional condition with all original paint and decals. The paint is near mint as are the decals. The correct weighted base sports a metal panel with the aircraft name and primary contractors. The airplane measures 10.25 inches long and the wings swing.

Rare model from the 1950sthat is molded in gloss bright red plastic with a display stand of many 'swirled' plastic colors. Includes a decal sheet with complete fuselage stripes, vertical fin, upper & lower wing 'N' numbers and the Stinson logo. Never started. All parts for the airplane are present. Decals and instructions are excellent. Missing stand. Box has tape tears on top as shown. Excellent builder.
