Unusual AMT issue from the Hasegawa molds. With markings and paint guide for camo version. From Steve Payne and Wiki - The U.S. Navy experimented with aircraft camouflage and painted half of the aircraft of CVW-11 with dark green colours to blend in with the Vietnamese jungle. The results proved inconclusive for the U.S. Navy, whereas the U.S. Air Force concluded that the camouflage was effective. U.S. Navy planes would not be camouflaged until the 1980s. Box art is of U.S. Navy North American RA-5C Vigilante aircraft (BuNo 150834) of Heavy Reconnaissance Squadron RVAH-13 Bats in flight over the Gulf of Tonkin. 150834 was one of three replacement aircraft for RVAH-13 on this deployment, as the squadron had lost three of its six aircraft. RVAH-13 was assigned to Carrier Air Wing 11 (CVW-11) aboard the aircraft carrier USS Kitty Hawk (CVA-63) for a deployment to Vietnam from 19 October 1965 to 13 June 1966.

Old and rare kit from the 1950s. When most kits were wood, Hillcrest has to put "Prefabricated Parts" on the cover to distinguish it from other models of the time. The kit has injection molded main parts in the frame of the actual aircraft. The small cello bag is still sealed and contains cast metal details such as the engine and tank and the clear molded wheel disks. There is powered glue with instructions as adhesive for injection molded kits was not available in stores. The framework is to be covered in tissue which is supplied. The instructions have a very nice three view drawing, parts diagram and written instructions. The Curtiss Pusher Model A was designed and flown by Glenn Curtiss and made a record-breaking flight from Albany to New York. For millions of New Yorkers, it was the first aircraft that they ever saw. The large 100 hp V-8 engine allowed it to win and set a new world speed record at the first French International Air Meet. Additionally, it was the first airplane to land and take off from a Navy carrier. Never started. Factory sealed bag or inventoried 100% complete with all parts and instructions.

Rare pre-Lindberg kit from the early 1950s. Wonderful and well detailed kit. Running hardware/gears included for motorizing via twin props, but the kit did not come with the motor. Hull is about one foot long. RC was never imagined for such small models during the 1970s but this kit could be easily made radio control with today's technology. Molded in white, medium blue and wood grain. Hull and one side panel have glue marks. No other signs of assembly. 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions.
