This is not a thin overlay but a scale-thick part to use instead of the plastic flight deck. Rare solid wood model from the 1940s. The scale is not given, but the wingspan is 5.25 inches. Features fuselage block, two sheets of very high quality printwood and full-size plans with templates. Never started and complete. Comet was a famous manufacturer of stick and tissue flying and static models. In the 1930s Great Depression, they lead the low-priced kit revolution with the "Dime Scale" kits and famous advertisements in Model Airplane News magazine and others. Comet reached it's peak in the 1930s when they acquired the services of Carl Goldberg. Goldberg was a highly accomplished modeler with articles in Model Airplane News and famous designs that won him several National level competitions in the 1930s and beyond. (Carl Goldberg went on to found his own company and produced well designed and popular free-flight and RC aircraft). Comet survived the post World War economic slump and continued kit production until they were bought out by long-time competitor Guillow's in 1998.

Please note that the decals are flat and 100% intact but they have some brown age spots.

Peck-Polymers is a manufacture of high quality stick and tissue models. This is remake of the classic old time rubber powered free flight model for wheels or floats. Can be converted to R/C if you wish. Kit includes contest quality die-cut printwood, stripwood and spars, a huge balsa prop blank cut to profile, one-piece vacuform clear cabin/cockpit windows, nylon thrust bearing, two colors of covering tissue, fully formed metal hardware, contest rubber motor, full size plans and more. The kit has never been started. The small parts are still sealed in the factory bag. The parts that were never sealed have been inventoried complete with all parts and includes instructions.

The 1891 Panhard was among the very first modern cars and with it's groundbreaking innovations was certainly the grandfather of the present day automobile. This is a rare kit of this historic automobile from when France clearly lead the automotive world in technology and quality. This happened largely because the French people, government and authorities embraced the horseless carriage; this was the opposite of what happened in most countries, especially Great Britain where they regulated it almost completely out of existence. Nicely molded kit features about 75 pieces, detailed suspension and drive line, large assembly guide with numbered parts layout, text & fully illustrated step-by-step instructions and automobile history (in French). The kit has never been started. The parts are still in the internal factory sealed bags and includes instructions. NOTE: instructions are quality photocopies.

Hasegawa Grumman S2F-1 Tracker - Hi-Vis Paint Scheme - (S-2A S2F1), 1/72, 1102

1970s Hi-Vis issue that is very nicely detailed. Inventoried 100% complete including all parts, decals and instructions. Over 1000 Trackers were completed for the Navy as carrier-based submarine hunters. Grumman was awarded the contract in 1950, and in 1952 the first XS2F-1 flew. The large belly radome contained the PAS-38 search radar and the AWQ-10 MAD detector was in the tail. ALD-3 ECM performed DF (direction finding) duties, and the 70 million candle power spotlight lit up targets at night. Sonobuoys were held in both engine nacelles and offensive weapons included acoustic torpedoes, depth charges, rockets and conventional bombs. Trackers saw service in several other Navies including Canada.
