AMT Get Smart Sunbeam, 1/25, 925-200

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG+++

Sold

Please Read Carefully: Box is solid and in very good condition. Correct instructions are included. The model has been built. It has not been built neatly and is missing many parts, primarily the entire interior. The body, engine, hood, hood machine gun doors and most trim is present. I would say this is good as a rare box, instructions and a built parts kit.

Lindberg Junkers Ju-87B Stuka, 1/48, 524-98

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good+

Sold

Late 1950s hardbox issue with Ray Gaedke box artwork. Molded in correct gloss medium green and clear, with the futuristic Lindberg 'V' shaped clear stand. For it's time, this was an excellent kit with fine panel and rivet detail. Features crew of two and seats, separately molded rudder and flap/ailerons, four small wing load bombs and a center bomb with 'swing arm' so that it would clear the prop in a dive. This kit has never been started. It is either still in the internally sealed factory bag or has been inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions. The box would grade higher, but it has a crush at the lower left and a tape tear on one long side. Thanks to Dusty Rhodes for this information: The markings with this model, A5+HL, are from a -B2 (Trop.) captured intact in North Africa, 1941 and shipped to the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago. It is still there today (2020). This may very well be the aircraft that Lindberg Skokie-based designers examined as a basis for this model.

Maircraft Globe Swift - 'Little Gems' Series Scale Solid Wooden Aircraft Kit, 1/72, G-3

Wood and Metal Model Kit,   Box Condition: NM

Sold

These kits are good candidates for the first line of 1/72 model aircraft produced in the USA. Although not as old as the Frog injection molded 1/72 scale kits, these solid wood and metal models were made in the late 1930s or 1940s to 1/6 inch scale - which is commonly known today as exactly 1/72 scale. Maircraft announced kits G-1 through G-6 with 'more to come', but it is likely that no others were produced as Maircraft was out of business by 1948. The highpoint of the Little Gems series was the plans and instructions. Wonderfully illustrated and written, they show step by step how to carve and contour the model and how to finish it. Includes excellent three view full size drawings and templates. The kit consists of balsa wood with printed outlines for all parts and a metal parts sheet with wheels and propeller. This kit has never been started and is complete with all parts and plans/instructions. Maircraft was originally founded in the early or mid 1930s by Gordon Christoph and went by the name Aircraft Model Company. The company produced a typical line of solid 'profile cut' kits that required the usual high talent levels for carving and finishing. A former Comet Model Airplane & Supply Co. salesman, Jack Mair, bought the company in the early 1940s and renamed it Maircraft. This company was one of the handful of solid kit producers who issued models in a consistent 1/48 scale during the 1930s and 1940s (others included Hawk and Dyna-Model), and eventually even made these 1/72 scale series 'Little Gems'.

Tokyo Plamo was the named used by Sanwa in the early 1960s, before Sanwa went out of business in 1964. Sanwa was a very significant early model manufacture, creating a huge variety of kits in an equally large number of scale. Sanwa molds are likely the source of many odd-scale Japanese kits and premiums produced around the world in the earlier days of modeling. Small scale kit. Nicely molded with full landing gear, clear canopy and decals. Still factory sealed inside and complete with instructions.
